Why is it that every time the Cubs play the Cardinals, I get a little extra fired up? That’s easy; it’s because I hate the Cardinals.
Only one other rivalry can compare, and that’s the Bears Packers. When these games are played, there is that extra juice… even in a regular season game this early in the season.
It still sucks to see Dexter Fowler in a Cardinals uniform. Here’s this guy who is a World Series hero… someone that regardless of what else he does, or wherever else he plays, will be in my heart forever. But the Cardinals? Man, that’s really testing it. Still got love for you Dex, but you sure do look hideous in that Cardinal red.
Other than him, there is nobody else on that team that I even like a little bit; it all starts with their manager. I bet he’s a lot of fun to play for, with his bubbling personality. The guy has about as much personality as a wet blanket. He sits there in the dugout… looking pissed off… acting like he’s really thinking about something. Any time the Cubs do something good, the hairs seems to stand on the back of his neck. Good. I love seeing that… like when Baez hit that HR on Monday night. I bet he absolutely hates the personalities on this Cubs team…
Adam Wainwright… man I can’t stand that guy. Pat said it on the broadcast… his record against the Cubs at Wrigley; it’s damn impressive. It’s no wonder why I can’t stand him. But on the flip side, we’ve really gotten to him in St. Louis. He did enough to get the win in Game 1 at Wrigley…. again.

My father in law is a Cardinal fan; hey, nobody is perfect. When he sent my son a Cardinal shirt, he never… well, let’s not say what we did with that shirt. It was the thought that counts. And after he talked to my son the other day, the day of that first Cubs Cardinals game, my son reaffirmed his love for the Cubs… but he also said he likes the Cardinals. Always a little something extra when the Cubs play the red turds. Yes, the Bears vs fudgepack compares nicely. It will always be tough to see dex in a different uniform, especially the red turds, after what he did for the Cubs in 2016. His lead off homer in game 7 just set the pace for the rest of the game. He will always be remembered and celebrated. There is nobody on the red turds team that I care for. As far as I’m concerned, I hope the Cubs win 15 of 20 vs them, pound them into submission repeatedly, and end their season like we did recently. Let them always look up and see Cubbie blue ahead of them in the standings. The red turds are owned, and the Cubbies are their daddies! Let that continue for years to come…GO CUBS GO!!!
