April 19, 2018: Five Months

posted in: Bears | 1

Today is always a big day.  It’s the day when the NFL releases the team schedules.  Yes, it’s still about 5 months to go, but with the release of the Bears schedule, the countdown has now begun.

I’m trying to remember if I do this now, or wait until the season gets closer.  Screw it; let’s do it now.  I’m going game by game and predicting the Bears record.  Let’s go:

Week 1 @ Green Bay

Quite the way to start the season.  If you love the noon start times on Sunday, you’re going to have to wait a bit.  This one will be the debut of Sunday night football.  Guess the NFL is loving them some Trubisky; we are too, and now, he’s going to have to show and prove.  I know there has been talk downplaying a big year this year, but that’s crap.  There’s no reason why the Bears can’t be back in the playoffs starting this year.  So, yeah, in Green Bay, the Bears will win, 30-28.

Week 2 vs Seattle

Sunday night, then Monday night for the home opener against the Seahawks.  Guessing this ticket may be a hot one.  Bears win again, this time it ain’t that close.  Bears 24-13.

Week 3 @ Arizona

Finally back on Sunday during the day, but this will be the 3pm variety.  An undefeated Bears team going to Arizona brings back some very good memories.  Are they who we think they are?  For at least another week, yes.  Bears 17-14.

Week 4 vs Tampa Bay

I really want to pick the Bears to lose a game, but… not this one right?  Right.  We’ll finally get back to that noon start, and continue winning.  Bears 31-20.

Week 5 Bye Week
Each sachet of the medication order levitra online raindogscine.com contains Sildenafil citrate which is considered as phosphodiesterase inhibitor to treat erectile dysfunction. Can you imagine going 4-0 to the bye week?  This city will be losing its shit.  I remember last year, looking at the start of the schedule, knowing it was going to be ugly.  This year, even if I give you week 1 vs the Packers, it’s very possible 3-1 minimum heading into the bye.  I’m taking the Packers game, so it’s 4-0.  Can you dig it?

Week 6 @ Miami

An undefeated Bears team going to Miami does NOT bring back good memories.  Coming off a bye week, we can only hope the team will be better prepared than these weeks with Trestman and Fox.  This is the perfect trap game, and yes, the Bears will fall in.  Bears lose 31-28.

Week 7 vs New England

This one sets up well for us.  Coming off our first loss, heading home to take on the legendary B&B.  Bears will actually beat them for once.  Not 46-10, but Bears 27-24.

Week 8 vs New York Jets

Sorry, I like the Bears here too.  Just remember who’s talking, but really, I do believe a big year is in store.  Bears 35-17.

Week 9 @ Buffalo

This will complete the 4th week in a row vs the AFC East, and if you’d tell me the Bears would go 3-1 in those games, I’d be happy.  I’m actually picking them to lose this game, but still, 2-2 in this 4 game stretch is reasonable.  Bears lose 24-13

OK, so halfway there… and I’m predicting 6-2 so far.  Total homer picks?  Maybe, but maybe not.  Let’s look at the second half next.  Bear Down!

  1. MK

Pretty sure this is done closer to the season starting, but we can roll with it now and see if anything changes later…
Game 1 @ gb–MTru and the Bears come out fired up and take it to the fudge packers all night long.
    Bears W 38-31
Game 2 vs sea–not the same team any longer, and I’m talking about both. Make it a 2-0 start!
    Bears W 33-15
Game 3 @ zona–short week for the Bears catches up to them
    Bears L 24-20
Game 4 vs tb–bounceback game as the Bears pound the bucs
    Bears W 37-17
Game 5 @ mia–time for some payback! The Bears dish it up hot and heavy after they bye!
    Bears W 30-20
Game 6 vs ne–hate to do it but the Bears lose their 1st game at home…in ot
    Bears L 33-30
Game 7 vs nyj–bounceback W after tough ot loss
    Bears W 41-20
Game 8 @ buf–trap game with 5 of next 8 vs division foes…Bears get got
    Bears L 27-21

Looks like 5-3 to me. I would be extremely happy with this as the Bears hold the keys to the playoffs with 5 games vs gb, det, and min to come. What will the 2nd half have in store? TBD…BEAR DOWN
