August 4, 2017: Basement Bulls

posted in: Bulls | 1

We interrupt this regularly scheduled Cubs blog with some negative thoughts about the upcoming Bulls season.

We know it’s going to be bad right?  The early NBA win total projections are coming out, and they look accurate.  ESPN says 28.5; ouch!  Only the Hawks and Kings are projected to be worse.  Yes, that’s right, even the Nets are projected to win more games than our Bulls.  I wonder how the United Center attendance numbers will do this year.  Will we finally hit these assholes where it hurts?

Probably not.  We love our Bulls regardless.  Many of us still have MJ and the 90s dynasty carrying us through, probably until eternity; kind of like those 85 Bears.  Yes, I did take the Jimmy Butler fathead off the wall in my son’s room.  And yes, I told my wife it would be OK for him to have a Butler Twolves shirt.  And yes, it will be OK to root for the Wolves to do well this year.  But no, for two games this year it will not be OK.  I can never root for another team over the Bulls; my son will be taught the same.

But GarPax aren’t making it easy.  Having the worldwide appeal that MJ brought to the Chicago Bulls, the eternal love of all the fans who lived through it…taking advantage of this…knowing the dollars will keep flowing in…and not doing us right…that’s just wrong.

Imagine tying a very amerikabulteni.com order generic levitra tight rubber band around your finger. I read something about the Bulls being in position to land a couple max guys a year from now.  Ha!  Unless ownership changes, or at the very least GarPax aren’t around, or even if we had a new coach, who will want to come here?  Yes, Chicago is awesome.  Yes, the Bulls are an all time great franchise with a great history.  But who would want to join this dysfunction?  Millions and millions of dollars may make that decision easier, but there are plenty of other places to go; there are teams that have at least one good player.

We don’t any more.  Trading Butler was the icing on top of the cake. We’ve hit rock bottom, and unlike the White Sox, there aren’t a ton of “prospects” aka young talent in the wings.  Yes, we have a guy who could be something, but he’s coming off ACL surgery.  We have a guy who maybe needs a fresh start, coming off a year where he averaged four points.  We drafted a big guy that can shoot and…we drafted a big guy that can shoot.  And then there’s Hoiberg…

Well I can’t wait until the season begins.  I do look forward to dirt cheap ticket prices, which are an almost certainty.  No, DWade’s retirement tour won’t help; he probably won’t even be here all year anyways.  We’ll trade him for a bag of chips.  Yes, maybe I’ll even be able to get some cheap Lexus level seats this year.

They’re the Chicago team in the worst position.  There is no light at the end of this tunnel.  These are the basement Bulls.  I guess that’s good in this way: there’s only one way to go.  Or, we may sign a multiple year lease.  We deserve better.  Go Bulls!

28.5 wins? WOW. That means 53.5 losses. Not going to be pretty for the Bulls this year. It probably won’t be as bad as things were post-MJ when the Bulls went 13-37 in a strike shortened year, 17-65, 15-67, 21-61, 30-52, and 23-59. That is 6 horrible seasons in a row. So where will the Bulls record fall out this year compared to those years? My prediction is 27-55 so I guess I’m betting the under. As the year goes on, it will be important for the Bulls to tank, I mean lose gracefully to better their chances for next year’s draft. Combine a good draft pick or two with some free agent signings and…yeah, who knows. Nobody really knows what garpaxberg will have in store for the Bulls the next few years. How soon can they return to contending and making the playoffs? Not sure, but I agree the Bulls tickets should be cheap…might be an ideal spot to attend a game. The Bulls fans do deserve better. When will we get it on the court and from the organization? Stay tuned. GO BULLS!!!
