January 12, 2016: Still Talking Bears

posted in: Bears | 1

Bears season has been over for about 10 days now…some may say longer than that. Yet, I flip on the Score and they’re still talking Bears.  I get it but I don’t get it.

Personally, I’m done with them. 2015 Bears football is in the rear view…never to be fondly remembered again…except for the win in Lambeau.  Yet today, I’m talking Bears.

That’s because it’s back to 1985 to close out the regular season. A matchup in the Pontiac Silverdome against the Detroit Lions was all that was left on the regular season slate that was decided 8 months earlier.  It would be more of the same.

Speaking of the Silverdome, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?  For me, that’s easy:  Wrestlemania III.  Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant was the last match on that night, but it was pretty classic up and down the card. The Full Nelson match, the British Bulldogs vs the Hart Foundation, and of course, probably the best match of all time in my book, Ricky the Dragon vs Randy Poffo…or as he is better remembered by Macho Man Savage….ooooh yeah.

Speaking of wrestling, you remember when Fridge was in that Battle Royal…maybe it was a Royal Rumble.  I haven’t got back into it quite yet, but I’m sure I will as my son gets older.  Wrestling was pretty cool back in the day.

Also, vardenafil can online prescriptions for cialis lead to a reduction in blood pressure if you are affected with any of these injections. And so was this Bears team. Wilber Marshall put a submission move on Lions QB Joe Ferguson in this one. You remember the hit?  YouTube it if you don’t. He probably would have been penalized, fined, and suspended for that hit nowadays…flying into Ferguson’s chest like a heat seeking missile. He laid that dude out. I’m sure the backup was hoping he got back up, but he didn’t. Another QB victimized by this tenacious D.

The Bears didn’t rest any of their players on this day…did you think they would?  Maybe Vegas did in making them only 6.5 point favorites.  The Bears had nothing to gain here.  They had the division, conference, bye week, home field all locked up.  They had nothing to gain but to beat the living day lights out of another opponent. And they did…37-17.  After all, their mission was not done.  It was about to begin.

Not only did they not rest their players, they played the whole game.  Payton 22 touches including a 50 yard completion to Gault. McMahon throwing a 4th quarter TD.  Defense with six more sacks and a couple turnovers, including a fumble returned 5 yards to the house by Ron Rivera.  They even had a 94 yard kick return by Dennis Gentry.  Maybe they wanted to send one last message to the NFL.  15-1 and nowhere near done.

So that’s why I’m still talking Bears.  A divisional playoff game against an opponent TBD at Soldier Field is next.  I think I need to pop in the DVD.

2015 Bears are over and 2016 Bears are not on my mind yet…who is that new oc?

WWE wrestling…entertainment for all ages! 2 of my boys are all into it, including the little big guy, who does multiple wrestlers’ entrances and moves on me daily! Wrestlemania 32 will be april 3rd…party by me!

As for the 85 Bears, that is how you wrap up one of the best seasons ever. No resting players, no sitting guys out, no playing around…completely destroy the lions and continue to put fear in all teams heading to the playoffs. The best is yet to come for this 85 Bears team!
