March 25, 2018: Lesser of Two Evils

So Loyola really did it.  They’re headed to the Final Four.  So what’s next, besides Sister Jean bobble head dolls.  First up, Michigan.

It wasn’t the beat down of the previous round, but they did enough to punch their ticket to San Antonio.  I really liked the Wolverines back in the day… the Fab Five.  They were awesome, and my favorite player was Chris Webber.  We’ve been hearing a lot of him as an announcer during this tourney; he’s not too bad.  But that was a long time ago, when I was cheering them on, when they were winning money for me.  It’s all about Loyola now, and you know what… I think they can beat them.

Now on the other side, it was Villanova advancing in the first game on Sunday.  The one team that I actually got right in my bracket.  I had them advancing to the Finals.  I actually like them.  I can’t remember where I got this shirt, but I had a Villanova shirt when I was younger.  I’d love to see them advance to the Finals.  I definitely don’t want Kansas to win.

That was a great game though… Duke and Kansas.  I don’t like either of those teams, so I had to choose the lesser of two evils, and root for Kansas.  It has to be the “too much winning syndrome”.  These teams are always in the mix; I get sick of seeing them.  Maybe it’s the “you get every call” syndrome too.  In this one, Kansas trumped Duke, getting some calls down the stretch.  I still can’t believe that Grayson Allen shot didn’t fall at the end of regulation.

It offers excellent control over your ejaculate to satisfy cheapest viagra your girlfriend. Coach K is from Chicago.  He actually went to the grammar school in Ukranian Village, where I had two separate apartments.  It makes no sense why I should not like this guy.  I did like Duke when I first heard of them, back in the Johnny Dawkins day.  I feel like I’ve wrote this before.  I guess that’s what happens when you write so much… you start repeating yourself.  But I never liked the Laettner teams; I think that’s where it started.  When he hit that shot to beat Kentucky… when they beat UNLV… when they beat Michigan (I think).

Kansas is kind of in the same boat.  I think another part of that is because Bill Self ended up leaving Illinois to go there.  I get it… that’s where he went to school… can’t hate a guy for that… well, I guess you can.  The thing about these two schools is that they’re usually a destination for the top HS players out of Chicago.  Maybe that’s another reason why I don’t like them… wishing these local kids would stay local and bring a Chicago area team to the top.

Well, we didn’t need a top prospect to get there.  Loyola did it by playing true team basketball, sharing the ball, being unselfish, having multiple guys that can beat you, and playing hard nosed defense.  I would love to see them win it all.  Michigan will be the toughest game of their season on Saturday.  If they win, then Nova or Kansas would be the toughest game.  But why not them?  I can’t wait to watch them try to do it.  It feels like I’ve said this before too… Go Ramblers!

Go Ramblers! Why not them? Yes, some people do not think they are worthy of where they are. They would like to see the usual suspects, like Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, etc. I am not one of them. I can’t stand Kentucky and duke. I am ok with Kansas just because I like Bill Self. Loyola is getting a lot of hype right now, and I hope they are able to stay focused on the task at hand. No double digit seed has ever won a final four game. I think Loyola can do just that this weekend. If they do, I believe they will play nova for the title. Can they pull off the miracle? I hope so. RAMBLE ON!!!
