This football season has SUCKED!  Yeah, football is awesome, I love the Bears, I enjoy having a fantasy football team, and I enjoy making fantasy picks here every week.  The problem this year is, all of them are going to hell.

I’ve already beat the Bears to a pulp; I need to save my energy for after this Sunday’s game.  My fantasy team is following down the same track.  At 4-6 with 3 weeks to play in fantasy season, I need to win out AND get some help to get in the playoffs.  Let me tell you… I have a much better chance than the Bears.

A combination of bad decisions and bad breaks has me in this predicament.  Now, there is no room for mistake.  I’m projected to be a top 3 scoring team this week with a lineup of Tom Brady, Matt Forte, Jerick McKinnon, Julio Jones, Reggie Wayne, John Brown, Jordan Reed, Bishop Sankey, Robbie Gould, and the Buffalo defense.  I feel pretty good about my team.  Will I be able to win 3 straight?  Will I get the help I need?  Only time will tell, but the way this season has been going, I doubt it.

And then there’s my fantasy picks…  0-5 last week.  It wasn’t exactly 55-14, but 0-5!?!  I’ve hit rock bottom with my fantasy picks with a record now standing at 21-38.  Ouch!  Yet, I keep on going.  I keep on trying.  It would be just as easy to stop making these picks, and write some more about Chicago sports, but I’m going to see this out until the end of the season.  I’m going to try to make my own miracle comeback…

QB:  Teddy Bridgewater over Jay Cutler

Yeah, it’s like that.  I’m picking against the Bears in every way (except my fantasy FG kicker Robbie Gould and my fantasy RB Matt Forte) until they prove me wrong.  We’re great at making QBs look like Hall of Famers, even when they’re not, like Ryan Tannehill… although he’s been decent.  EJ Manuel even got a win against us earlier this year.  Teddy B will outpoint our boy Cutler this Sunday.

RB:  Bishop Sankey over Marshawn Lynch

Coming off the best week for a RB this season, Lynch will be average in Kansas City.  Though it’s been a lackluster season thus far for Bishop, even with the chances he’s been given, he gets a chance on MNF this week… and he finally will break through.  I didn’t want to link my fantasy team with my fantasy picks, but I just can’t resist.  I may need Bishop on Monday Night…

WR:  Golden Tate over Calvin Johnson

Same team competition here.  CJ will be covered by Peterson on the Arizona defense, which should limit his numbers this weekend.  This may allow Golden to get some more looks.  I think points will be scored in this one, and I like Golden to continue his great season and have the biggest day of anyone.

TE:  Jordan Reed over Mychal Rivera

Washington coming off the bye week… RG3 will rediscover his favorite target against a suspect defense in Tampa.  Targeting the rising TE in Oakland that I will be matched up against this week in fantasy.  Head to head, with Jordan Reed starting against the fantasy team that cut him, he’ll make a GM regret it.

Wild Card:  Julio Jones over Mark Ingram

Going with 2 top rated guys.  Ingram is the 2nd highest projected RB this week, while Julio is the 5th highest projected WR this week.  Julio hasn’t been in the end zone in 6 weeks… Ingram has been very good on the ground.  Going to see things switch up a little bit this week.  Julio over Ingram.

So there they are…  I’ve linked some of my fantasy team to my fantasy picks.  I’m going all in trying to turn this season around… at least the parts that I have control over.  Let’s 360 this 2014 football season, starting… now.
