November 21, 2015: Vegas Battle

posted in: Bears | 1

It’s never easy.  Yeah, I went 4-1 last week ATS, and actually the 4 wins were not close, but it can go oppo on you in a heartbeat.  So you need to tread lightly…what?!?

What was all that ride the streak stuff last week?  I did and I did keep winning.  But Papa Vegas wants you to press your luck, because at the end of the day, he always wins.  And no, I’m not saying when you hit that $20 on a slot you cash out and go home.  I’m just saying, watch your back!

It’s not easy in the trenches of this Vegas battle.  You second guess yourself all day long.  Woulda, coulda, shoulda.. Have to lose some to win some.  Press your luck.  Then there’s the, you can’t lose what you don’t put in, and thin to win.  Huh?  Ok, it has nothing to do with what I’m talking about, but you have heard that term when it comes to cutting the cards right?

We press on.  We shut out all the voices in our head and try to be smart.  Whether it’s riding the wave, pumping the brakes, or going all in, you make the call.  You have to pick your spots with all of them.

All the games don’t look that tempting to me this week like last week, but I found four.  Here are my 4 shots to keep it rolling:

2015 playoffs: 8-3  2015 regular season: 11-6

Oakland -1 at Detroit

I’ve seemed to have zoned in on certain teams this year, and Oakland is one.  I picked against them a couple times, and have won, including last week.  This week I’m riding on the silver and black side.  Last week was a fluke vs Green Bay, right?  If that game and the Monday nighter doesn’t prove the existence of papa Vegas, I’m not sure what does.  Detroit blows and Oakland gets the road victory.

I picked the Pack last week and got what I deserved.  If all it takes is for me to pick Green Bay for them to lose, I’d pick them every week.  We’d jinx them, kind of like Da coach did with that sweater…haha.  Anyways, I think the skid continues here.  I think the Vikes are legit this year, while the Aaron Rodgers show is proving it needs more than just a QB.  This might be a blowout early, with the Vikes holding on late, kind of like the Carolina game.

Chicago -1 Denver

I almost talked myself out of this one in my Bears preview… But I’m sticking with my original feel on this one.  To review, I don’t think Peyton gone will hurt them that much, but don’t think they’re as good as that 7-2 records tells us.  And the Bears??  Well, they might just be getting better…maybe.

Buffalo +7.5 at New England

One of my early season losses was the first version of this matchup this year.  I’m going back to the well, picking buffalo again, and picking against the pats for the 2nd straight week.  With the points of course… And speaking of those points…kind of light no?  Taking that doggie on Monday night.

So how are you faring in that battle?  You beating the man?  You giving it your best shot?  Hey, one of my retirement dreams is Vegas in the sports book every day.  I’m practicing now.  Good luck!
