Another brutal week for my fantasy picks and another loss in my fantasy league.  0-5 in my picks for the 2nd straight week brings my record to 21-43.  I think it’s safe to say this segment of the blog will no longer be continued after this football season ends.  So for all those bitching about these fantasy blogs, the end is near.

Same goes for my fantasy season.  At 4-7, my season hangs by a thread.  I cannot catch teams 1 through 5.  There is only one team that I can mathematically catch, while an additional team has snuck ahead of me.  I need both of those teams to lose the next 2 weeks.  Obviously, I need to win the next 2 weeks.  Winning has become a difficult task for my team lately.  It didn’t help that I went against Mike Evans, Jamaal Charles, AJ Green, and Roddy White this past week.  Too many TDs for Jonas Gray took away points from Brady on Sunday night, and Bishop Sankey, although he scored an early TD, couldn’t help me pull out a miracle.  At this point, I need a miracle to make the playoffs to give my prediction of a fantasy championship a chance.  Like the Bears, I’m not betting on that happening.

So, let’s roll this week’s losing picks out.  I would quit, but I like to finish what I started.  I will do this AT LEAST through the end of my fantasy season, which is a minimum of 2 more weeks.  Enjoy!

QB:  Ryan Tannenhill over Peyton Manning

Yep, this is why my record is what it is, but I’m looking to Ryan to do it again for me.  Why not against the #1 rated fantasy QB, the same guy who he will be opposing this weekend.  Miami has a defense that may be able to minimize the Peyton damage… I can only hope.

RB:  Jerrick McKinnon over Marshawn Lynch

Tying a pick to my fantasy league team has been the #2 reason my picks have sucked.  Well, I’m way past the point of no return; ride or die.  Jerrick may have a little extra motivation this week with the recent pickup of Ben Tate, while Marshawn is going against a tough Arizona run D.  Sounds like good reasoning to me.

Man is Josh Gordon getting overhyped for this week.  He was a stud last year; I had him on my team.  I just don’t think he comes in on his 1st week and goes nuts.  I’ve been wrong 43 other times this year.  Meanwhile, LaFell should get plenty of love with a tough Detroit run defense neutralizing now famous Jonas Gray.

TE:  Austin Seferian-Jenkins over Larry Donnell

We’re going to the well this week at TE too.  I’ve had past success against Larry D, so I will pick against him again.  This time, with the TE opposing the Bears this week; the same TE that I had to pick up from waivers due to the fact Jordan “punk ass” Reed is out and Heath Miller is on bye.  I hate to do it, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

Wild Card:  Sammy Watkins over Trent Richardson

Bradshaw is out, and Trent is in, AND has a favorable matchup this week vs the Jaguars.  Honestly, I still think he blows it.  Meanwhile, Sammy has a tasty matchup with the Jets secondary, although they may play this game in 7 feet of snow… wait, now rescheduled for Detroit on Monday night.  They’ll be playing this game indoors, which makes me like my pick even more.  Watkins has a big game… way bigger than sorry ass Trent.

So there.  Another week of picks in.  I’m almost tempted to make like 20 picks next week to try and improve my record in light speed, although it would probably have the opposite effect, and put me in a deeper hole.  Let’s try to end this segment with some pride, and some winning picks.  Good luck to you!

no comment on the two brutal bulls games? they looked pretty pathetic last nite. like the only one taking a shot was butler, and he must have forgot his contacts! hopefully the 3-day rest will cure the west coast blues.
