November 3, 2017: A Lull

Lull:  A temporary interval of quiet or lack of activity.  You have just experienced a lull in the daily blog postings, which is probably due to what feels like a lull in Chicago sports.  There is always something to talk about, but nothing has got me over the top excited, at least not at this moment.  Of course as usual, there is life outside of Chicago sports, and when that gets crazy, the catch up version of the daily blog kicks off.  Welcome.

Baseball season is over.  It was over a while ago for the White Sox, who are still trying their best to copy the Cubs and now Astros on their paths to success.  I think they have a very good start, but there is a lot still to be done.  The Cubs came up short, which now defines making it to the NLCS.  Anything less than a World Series title will just not do.  I don’t like that we came up short; I do like the new bar.  It sucks when baseball season is officially over.. but that hot stove is right around the corner.

The Bulls… yeah, I’ve been tuning in here and there.  I will say that kid Lauri has me excited, but not much else.  I did see that impressive Dunn dunk the other day, but it’s not like they’re must watch TV.  They still suck for the most part, but they do look to be a bit more competitive than we originally thought.  I will warm up to them as the season goes on…

Same for the Blackhawks.  They bounced back from a few bad games with a couple good games, but I’m still not there yet with them either.  Need to ramp up a bit; I’ll get there.

The Bears are what it’s all about right now, but they are on a bye week.  Although I can’t wait for next week against the Pack, when you factor all of this in, it was a good time to fall behind my blog, because there ain’t a whole lot going on in Chicago sports.

But that won’t last.  The hot stove… the Bulls and Hawks… the Bears vs Pack.  Things will be happening soon, the UC teams will settle into the meat of their schedule.  It will be heating up like it always does… and I’ll be right there watching it happen… I’ll be right there writing about it.

The daily blog will continue, regardless of how many people are reading it.  For those that are, I really do appreciate it; I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it.  You may miss some days, or fall behind like me too, but hopefully you’re on board for most of the journey; I’m still here.  Thanks again, and more to come!

Sucks that the Cubs fell short this year, but having the astros win it all seems fitting. They had never won it before. A lot of shakeups with the Cubs staff already. Some playoff movement to come?
The Bulls seem to be competitive but are still nowhere near a good team. The rookie Markk seems to be better than anyone thought as he is averaging 16 points and 9 rebounds so far…pretty damn good. Not real sure why he has a minutes restriction, though?
The Bhawks are just above .500 so far. Still getting all of those pieces to gel. Crow has been outstanding. If that continues, the offense should pick it up and make the Bhawks dangerous once again. Playoffs should be a no doubter. Beyond that, we shall see.
The Bears have a bye week to figure out some continuity on offense. Hopefully, the D rests up and continues its great play through the first half. They open the 2nd half vs the fudgepackers…time to show them how it feels to have an advantage at the qb position…hahaha!
