And I’m free, free falling…

So the fantasy pick game took another hit this week, going 2-4, bringing the record to 21-33.  Let’s take a quick look.

RG3 outscored Rivers and Vernon Davis outscored Jared Cook in my 2 wins.

I will never pick against Jamaal Charles again.  I will never pick against Demaryius Thomas again.  They got me again, while Hillman beat out Thomas, and Dez caught 2 late passes to beat out John Brown in my crazy pick of the week.  Let’s be thankful that my opponent in fantasy this week even made a worse pick than me.

He started Philip Rivers over Big Ben!  I even asked him, you’re starting Rivers over Big Ben?  I was playing him this week, and maybe he thought I was trying to trick him.  Whew!  That 60 point decision is the difference between me being back in the mix vs having one foot in the grave.  That decision allowed me to get a W with the 2nd lowest point total in the league.  That decision is why I’m baaacckk!!!

No Bears game, meant I watched some of the Arizona Dallas game and some of the Pats Broncos tilt.  Good games.  Both games with results that I liked.  I think it’s OK to start respecting the Cardinals.  Their defense looked impressive, even if it was against Brandon Weeden.  Their offense didn’t look half bad either, and is making me very happy to have Carson Palmer as my backup QB starting this week in Brady’s bye week.  Speaking about Brady, I was glad to see them kick the Broncos ass.  Made the Bears look a little better.  Brady carried me this week in fantasy, and the Pats look like the best team in the league right now.

Back to some other games… Minnesota’s win put us in the basement.  That was an ugly game.  I hate the fact that Asiata came in and scored all those TDs, while my guy, McKinnon did all the work with no reward.  That’s some BS.  Even more BS is the fact that we are in last place now.  Who would have bet that?

Looking ahead to Sunday night in Green Bay, the Bears look at a must win.  I really don’t like to use that term, but I can’t see any other way around it.  If we lose on Sunday night in Lambeau, the Bears will have one foot in the grave.  All that would be needed then is to push us in, and toss some dirt on top.  As Bears Packers week round 2 begins, the hate brews stronger than ever.  With our backs against the wall, we need to come out and play our best game of the season.  I hope we did some serious soul searching on this bye week.  I hope we come out and play like we can.  I hope we come out and stick it up Green Bay’s ass.

It’s funny this week who my opponent in our fantasy league is.  It’s funny who he has on his roster:  Cutler, Jeffery, Bennett.  So in a near must win for me in the fantasy league, it could be the Bears that do me in.  As you know, if you’ve read any of my stuff, I’ll take that in a heartbeat.  Bears over fantasy any day of the week.

As far as the pick game goes, looking back, maybe I should have picked my top games against the spread… maybe I would have had more success.  Hindsight is easy.  At 12 picks under .500, I need to piece together some winning weeks.  I’ll keep at it, and hope I can stop the free fall.  I wish the Bears the same luck.  Week 10 is upon us.
