November 5, 2017: More Like It

posted in: Bears | 1

Coming off a horrible fantasy week that I discussed earlier, I needed to bounce back.  My team scored a league high 175 points this week as I moved the record to 4-5.  I sit in 7th place, just outside the playoffs.  No time to stop now.

Matt Ryan poked his head out and put up 42 points.  I have all my eggs in this basket.  With Palmer out for the year, it’s Ryan or bust at the QB position.  Maybe it shouldn’t be…  I don’t think I should close the door on anything that I feel will help my team win a week, and that could mean waiver wire searching for a replacement QB.  I think this should be the least of my worries.

Matt Forte, remember him?  I loved him.  I was pissed when the Bears let him go.  He came up huge for me this week with 2 TDs on Thursday Night Football.  Needing him to come through in a bye week pinch, he did; now do I play him again?  He’s got a juicy matchup vs TB this week… As of right now, no.

Kamara from the Saints put up 30.20 points for God’s sake.  I can’t bench him, even if it is a tough matchup against the Bills.  The Saints are garbage in these situations, but I still think Alvin will get his.  I won’t bench Howard, not this week, not against GB.  And Hyde had a big week for me this week too, and with a matchup against the G-Men coming up.  I have 4 legitimate RB plays with only room for 3.  Forte is the odd man out, at least this week.

My WRs were horrendous this week.  That Jack Doyle for Allen Hurns trade is looking worse by the week; I have Hurns.  He may be cut soon after putting up 6.1 pts for me this week.  AJ Green put up a whopping 1.6; I’m just glad he’s not suspended this week.  You owe me AJ!  And Amari Cooper… one week and bust.  I’m getting a trade offer of Mike Evans for him… thoughts?  With Winston at QB, I may make that deal.  Without…  maybe not.

At TE, and the reason I moved Doyle, is Evan Engram.  17 point performance from the man this week.  He is locked and loaded every week at the TE position.  Along with Matt Ryan, he is the only solid spot in the lineup every week.

My kicker Lutz came through with 7 points; he’ll be cut this week.  And the Jacksonville defense turned in another double digit performance with 14 points.  I’m still benching them next week.  The Bears defense was made for starts like this at home against Green Bay without Rodgers.  Bring on the Pack!

It felt good to get a big win; that was much more like it.  The championship dream is back on track.  With a victory this week, I will officially be in the playoffs.  It’s time to zone in and make it happen.  Forget about projected points, and go with my gut.  I can do this.  Go Chicago Blitz!

BEAR Down up 10 points heading into Monday night. Julio tried to burn me by dropping an easy TD and costing me 10+ points. I had the detroit kicker going against 2 cheesepacks, which means I was projected to lose. Fortunately for me, the cheesepacks suck without their discount double check clown. BEAR Down held on and got a much needed W. 2 in a row and not stopping there. Time for my team to kick some donkey ass this weekend, just like the Bears are going to fudgepack the cheese! BEAR DOWN!!!
