October 25, 2014: Child’s Play

posted in: Bears | 1

Let’s start off this weekend with some stellar picks.  My record until now sits at 19-24.  I took a small step backwards last week, but am pressing on.  As crazy as it seems, I really do believe in these picks.  Yeah, sometimes it’s more heart than head, but you know I have that problem.  Winning picks, come on down…..

QB:  Carson Palmer over Tom Brady

So I’m going to prove it to you… the fact that I believe in these picks.  I scooped up Carson Palmer this week from waivers.  I was surprised he was still out there.  I also have Tom Brady.  I will be starting Carson Palmer this week… no BS.  Couple reasons for that include the helter skelter Bears surprisingly showing up this week, and the fact that he is playing against the Bears, and I can’t be rooting for him to throw TDs… that just ain’t right… it’s not natural.  I like Carson’s matchup at the same time vs Philly.  Roster has been edited; no turning back.

RB:  Giovani Bernard over Jamaal Charles

So with a running back stable consisting of Matt Forte, Giovani Bernard, Jerick McKinnon, Bishop Sankey, and Roy Helu Jr, I feel pretty well off.  I can’t pick Matt Forte over anybody because he usually is, like this week, the top rated RB.  So, I’m going with Giovani, who is coming off a horrendous performance.  He has a good history against the Ravens, and coming off a bad game, going home, against a division rival, he comes to play.  I pick Jamaal Charles as the guy to beat because I traded Jamaal Charles for Giovani Bernard earlier this year.  I want to be right about that feeling.  I like the St. Louis run defense, even on the road.  I want to be right about this pick.

WR: John Brown over Jeremy Maclin

Researchers said, there are no certain causes of TMJ disorders, however they uncover this condition connected with cialis pharmacy online stress. The attacks also recur with out any regular rate of recurrence and such situations need medical attention ASAP. buying levitra online Although that’s not viagra 100 mg Check This Out the case with high quality medicine. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that side effect on the blood flow cialis sildenafil to the penis. OK, I’m not going up against Demaryius Thomas the #1 WR again.  He screwed me the last 2 weeks in my picks.  I’m taking aim at Jeremy Maclin.  I’m taking aim at Jeremy Maclin with a deep sleeper.  Well, not that deep, but this is another guy that I grabbed off waivers this week.  He’s most likely still on waivers in many leagues.  I think he has a big week going against the Philly secondary.  I don’t really respect Arizona, but they’re going to start making people respect them after this win.

TE:  Clay Harbor over Heath Miller

So just to prove it to you again…  I picked up Clay off waivers this week, and will be starting him over my other TE Heath Miller.  Miami is not good at defending the TE, although we didn’t take advantage of that last week.  I actually like the Jags to win 2 in a row, and Clay has been on my watch list for a while now.  His breakout game is upon us.  I don’t like Heath going against the Colts either.

Wild Card:  Doug Martin over Steve Smith

Going to a popular bounceback player this year over an actual bounceback player.  Stevie boy did me well in the one pick I took him, while Dougie did not.  I’m reversing the trend this week, and taking Martin to have his best game of the year to top Smith this week.

On this October 25th, we sit on the eve of Week 8.  On this October 25th, we celebrate my Mom’s birthday.  She’s always been involved with the sports side of my life, whether it was the shopping vs Bears game conflict every Sunday, or being the one face that I could always count on seeing at each of my baseball games growing up.  Even to this day, she reads most of this sports crap I talk about on this site daily, even though she hates the hate files.  She has always been there.  I couldn’t ask for a better mother growing up, and I still am spoiled by her to this day.  Now, seeing her as an awesome grandmother, doesn’t surprise me; this is just who she is, and I love her for it.  Happy Birthday Mom!
