September 13, 2014: It Takes Two

Week 2 brings some more opposite picks.  I think I’m going to change the format a little bit.  We’re going with the same concept, where I will predict someone who will do worse than projected, and someone who will do better than projected.  The difference will be I will match them head to head.  So I’ll pick a low ranked guy who will finish higher than a high ranked guy.  Let’s try it.

At QB, I’m getting crazy.. right off that bat.  No, not Shaun Hill, or Shaun King kind of crazy, but Jake Locker baby.  Is he finally going to put together a solid NFL season?  In week 2, at home, against the pitiful Cowpokes, I’m riding Locker.  I’m riding him so much so, that I say he finishes with more fantasy points than Aaron Rodgers this week.  Say what?!?!  Yeah, that’s right.  So start Locker over Rodgers in your fantasy leagues this week.  HAHA.  Can you imagine somebody telling you that on ESPN?  They’d probably fire them.  That’s the beauty of having your own blog.  I could say whatever the hell I want!  Roast me if you’d like.

How about the running back position?  Let’s gather our thoughts, and get back on the meds before making this prediction.  I’m going personal on this one… I’m taking my fantasy RB2 this week, Terrance West.  He’ll finish ahead of…. DeMarco Murray.  I can’t stand the Cowboys for starters, plus he’s the RB I’m playing this week.  Screw it.  We’ll roll with it.  I’m a little less out there on this one I think, but still out there.  This is what it’s all about:  the genius vs the idiot.

Let’s take a look at the Divas… I mean, the WRs.  There are A LOT of good fantasy WRs these days.  With the pass happy NFL, there are a number of guys who could have big weeks.  Big pool to choose from.  The guy I’m trying to beat is Calvin Johnson.  The guy I’m going to pick will have a better fantasy point game than him.  This guy is… Pierre Garcon.  If the Carolina defense is any good, they will be double teaming Megatron, while RG3 (my fantasy QB BTW) gets to tee off on Jacksonville this week.  His main man, with TE Jordan Reed out, will be Pierre.  Watch and learn…

At Tight End, I’m going after Greg Olsen.  After he burned me last week, and since I can’t forget that he used to be OUR tight end until the Idiot Martz decided that a TE is not important in an offense and now he’s an awesome TE in Carolina (that’s a mouthful), I’m going to pick this guy over him:  Martellus Bennett.  Yeah, straight homer pick, but why not?  Bennett had a really good game last week, and think he’ll top Olsen this week in fantasy points.

So that’s 4 total predictions this week.  My record last week in the “old” format was 3-5.  I’m looking to go at least .500 on these choices.  Well, that would suck to go .500.  I need to add one more pick this week to break the tie if there was one.  For the 5th and final pick, we’ll call it a Wild Card pick.  I’m going to take somebody from the Flex pool, WR-RB-TE, and pick them over another Flex guy from a different position.  Yeah, I’m making this shit up on the fly.  I’m going with one of my fantasy guys (go figure!), Reggie Wayne, and I’m taking him over Montee Ball.  Let’s roll with it!

So the Genius vs Idiot picks continue.  Where will I end up this week?  Ouch… that hurt.  Good luck to you whoever you take, and remember, let your big nuts swang.
