Well, week 2 was the week I took one on the chin… multiple ones actually.  It was a disaster in fantasy football, as I started RG3… need I say more.  My predictions were about as good.  Let’s review shall we.

At QB, I made my 2nd embarrassing prediction in as many weeks.  To say Jake Locker was going to have a good week is one thing; to say he’d have a better week than Discount Double Check Bitch is another.  Neither happened… not even close.  Like I’ve said, I can’t take my heart out of these picks, and love going against a Packer at any and all costs.  0-1

I made it interesting with the running back pick.  My guy Terrance West had a very good game.  The only thing was the guy I picked him to beat, had a better one.  DeMarco “only guy I know with this first name” Murray had a great game for another team I love to root against.  Screw the Cowboys and screw this pick.  0-2

This was the right week to go against Megatron.  There were 19 receivers that did better fantasy wise than Calvin this week; Pierre was NOT one of them.  Maybe this had to do with RG3 going down, or maybe Garcon just flat out sucks.  Why I picked him is beyond me.  A perfect 0-3 is where we stand.

At tight end, I finally broke through.  Going against ex-Bear Greg Olsen with present Bear Martellus Bennett proved to be my only win of the week.  Thank you for that TD that sealed the deal Marty.  Can you imagine Olsen still on this team?  The Bears could line up with Marshall and Alshon, Bennett and Olsen, with Forte in the backfield… that would be sick.  Moving on…

My wild card pick of the week was a good idea I thought, except the pick I made was not.  Reggie Wayne didn’t do a damn thing on MNF.  He didn’t even have to have that big of a game to beat out Montee Ball this week, but he failed me.  He failed me on multiple levels this week.  You owe me one Reggie.

So a 1-4 record this week brings my 2 week total to 4-9… off to a stunning start in the prediction department.  All I can do is keep firing shots, kind of like a shooter in a slump… they’re bound to start going in… eventually.

Other Week 2 thoughts… Love seeing the Saints go 0-2, while the Packers narrowly avoided the same fate.  How about those refs up in Lambeau?  They might as well wear the ugly green and gold for Packers home game because they help them out almost every time.  An assist from the zebras helped the Packers edge out a victory against the NY Jets.  I didn’t see much football this week.  With the Bears playing Sunday night, I was actually doing stuff during the day… that sucked.  I didn’t miss much other than my QB RG3 going down.  Looking back at my fantasy draft, I had a strange feeling I would be happy I took Cutler and didn’t just roll with RG3…  My fantasy football season is not over because of this, although RG3’s may be, and a waiver claim for Cousins will be made.

With the whole news about Peterson and the beating of his kids, it seems like the NFL is spiraling out of control.  If parents choose to discipline their children a certain way, one in which I do not agree with, so be it.  If those same parents cross the line, that just ain’t right.  More off the field stuff to deal with… it’s a lot more fun just to worry about the on the field stuff.  Eventually somebody will have to take the fall for all this drama, and that man may be the commish.  Right or wrong, somebody always has to take the hit.

One more word about the Bears game… Vegas… OK, 2 words… Papa Vegas.  There’s a lot of strange stuff happening, not only in both Bears games this year, but across the league.  With the rabid fan bases and constant overreactions to the results on the field from week to week, Vegas sits back and takes advantage.  I’m pretty sure they have made a killing so far this NFL season.  I just hope Papa Vegas never gets exposed; that could be the ugliest of all scandals.  Don’t make it too obvious PV.  The Bears were on both sides in each of the first 2 weeks; how will it play out on MNF next week?  I’ll be watching to find out, and I won’t be falling asleep for that one.
