September 18, 2017: The Waiting Game

posted in: Bears | 1

Let’s just get right to it.  I said I would continue blogging about Trubisky starting over Glennon until it actually happens; well, it ain’t happened yet.

The Bears got embarrassed in Tampa Bay.  Was this game exclusively on the QB?  No, but he has more of a hand in this loss than anybody.  You just can’t turn the ball over at that position and expect to win games; we’ve seen this before.

I missed his first INT.  Of course, I couldn’t wait to see it…wanting to know if it was all his fault, a tipped pass, off the WRs hands maybe. Looking for more evidence to convict this guy, lock him up, and never let him take another snap in a Bears uniform.  He threw the ball right to the defender; exhibit 1.

Then came the fumble. He actually lost the ball as he was trying to secure it before he got hit; another bad looking play.  Finally, for exhibit 3 your honor, the pick six.  And Glennon wanted to put some blame on the wide out; this deja vu is making me queasy.  I didn’t know that Tampa was so awesome defensively…

Sure, we have no wide outs that are recognizable by anyone other than their parents, and yes, we did have other bad decisions, like the Cohen fumble.  It was a bad play, no doubt, but can you blame him?  He knew he had to try to do something super hero like to give us a chance to win with this QB and this offense.  Take how the Bears used, tried to use Tarik for example.  You don’t think the defense was keyed on him?  Sweep left, sweep right, go out 3 yards and cut across for a pass.  He didn’t have a chance on this day, and that’s because there was no threat of anything else…not with this deadbeat at QB.

So am I saying Mitch would have done better?  Yes, that’s exactly what I am saying.  That’s what most people believe, right?  Why can’t the guys that matter see it?  I understand trying to set him up to succeed, and that’s why we’ll have to continue to play the waiting game until week 5 at home on MNF with 10 days to prepare for the Vikes.  At that point, the Bears will be 0-4; I thought they’d at least win one of the first four.  That ain’t gonna happen.  But what if it does?

What if by some miracle the Bears beat Green Bay (notice I’m not even mentioning the chance to beat Pittsburgh); will we then have to wait some more?  Can’t bench Glennon after a win like that.  Why have they committed to this guy at all is the question.  In my opinion, the Bears are not that bad a team.  And if you look at the second half, there is the potential to make a run regardless of who we have playing at WR…only if number 10 is back there.  It makes me sick that the Bears are willing to flush the first four games of the season…possibly even more.

Can you really blame Fox?  If I was a guy whose job is on the line, I’d definitely put the guy in that gives us a better chance to win.  I don’t even want to shutter the thought that Trubisky is NOT that guy. Where the hell does that leave us?  Scary thought, but never, ever in a position wishing Cutler was back…never…damn those people make me sick.

No, the answer fortunately for us is on the roster; that’s what I believe.  Unfortunately for us, someone doesn’t want to pull that trigger yet. What the hell are we waiting for?  2 more losses?  We can only hope.  Free Mitch and Bear Down!!!

Waiting sucks. Patience is the hardest virtue. I completely missed the entire Bears game and am glad I did. I saw the highlights, and by that I mean all of the Bears turnovers and subsequent bucs points. Was there anything good to take away from this disaster? I don’t think so. Unless you consider being one game closer to the MTru era a good thing. We are all hoping it will be, but is anything certain in the nfl, especially with our Bears? Man, does it suck seeing the Bears throw a quarter of the season down the tubes. Would MTru be any better? No way to tell but definitely won’t know with him sitting on the bench. Glennon turning the ball over 3 times is like a familiar nightmare. The Bears are definitely not good enough to turn the ball over and win games. They barely have enough talent to keep up right now. They have to play a near perfect game just to have a shot to win. Would MTru boost the Bears chances? How long will he wait? How long do we have to wait? Maybe the steelers will knock glennon out of his misery? I called him getting hurt in game 5…maybe it happens in game 3? Put MTru in and let us all see what the Bears future holds. #freeMitch
