June 7th huh? In month/day lingo, 6/7… six, seven… my son would be loving this. You know the whole six-seven thing? Anyways, I guess it’s this saying that all the kids are using… started with some high school basketball player, went viral, and now it’s used all the time. There’s even a water coming out with this name… crazy. We’ve hit it pretty hard over the past weeks/months, but today IS the day. I don’t know… I told my son I feel like starting a new thing, like… eight, nine… he said, good luck with that.
As the NBA and NHL enjoy their final rounds, we’ll soon be left with only the MLB for a couple months, until the king returns. The king of course is football. If the NFL is the king, then certainly College Football is the right hand man. College Football’s popularity is at an all time high IMO. From one angle, it’s the NFL on steroids, with the number of teams and games multiplied exponentially throughout the season. Sure, we don’t have “fantasy college football”, at least not widespread, but you can certainly bet on it, and props too… for now. With the NIL and transfer portal going crazy, there’s a whole lot going on with NCAA Football. For this reason, I purchased my first offseason publication, or to use a vocabulary word from my son, periodical.
Lindy’s Sports College Football National 2025 Preview; hello there. 264 pages of goodness. I’m not a big reader in general, but I’ve started digging in here; there’s a lot of information in there. Trying to get a good feel as the season approaches; information is knowledge, knowledge is power. How I’ll sort all the info I’m reading in those pages is another story. Still don’t have a set system per se. I do make notes from time to time as I’m reading through the magazine; maybe there will be some win totals that I will take. Maybe I’ll get a good gauge on some big matchups coming up this season, you know, the ones with the lines posted already. I haven’t had very good luck with my long term investments, but I don’t think I should stop trying; I do think there can be some value in there. Considering last year was one of the first times I’ve tried betting on win totals, etc, maybe I can learn from my rookie mistakes; maybe with the increase of information I can make better decisions. Time will tell.
I think as I continue to catch up, I will talk a little College Football, and some of my observations in my perusing. Plus, there is that 2nd book that I purchased; the same company’s NFL season preview. I’m almost through the NFC… Football coming out of my ears, while I continue to watch the Finals in basketball and hockey, and oh yeah, those K props… There’s never a dull moment, that’s for sure; there’s just not enough time in the day.
