Warming up today in Chicago; still wanted to bring a little something. I threw on my Cubs zip-up sweater/jacket. Walking from the train to work; there were a lot of people out and about. Once the weather breaks… I saw a bunch of people with Sox gear on ironically. When we walked past each other, just kind of gave each other a look. Of course, the Cubs are in first place and the Sox are in last place. Still, wear your gear proudly; bravo Sox fans! This is how you have to be. What, are you going to jump on the bandwagon and wear some swag from a winning team? There’s no way either of us would flip to the other baseball team, just because one is worse than the other. Nah, you ride with your team, through good times and bad times; I can respect that. There are some things to be happy about as a Sox fan, right?
Well, I’m here to tell you there is. Besides great ballpark food, proximity to Ricobene’s, and basement low ticket prices, there is more. The Sox will finish with a better record than last year; you can guarantee that. The Sox finished an MLB record low 41-121 last year. Currently at 10-25, they’re on pace to win about 47 games so far, so… improvement! Heck, they may even get to 50 wins! It doesn’t happen overnight… The bad thing about the whole deal is that Reinsdorf will still be the owner of the team; I feel that pain, being a Bulls fan. Did you hear that nugget about Bryce Harper? Reinsdorf cancelled the 2nd meeting… tight wad. But hey, the Sox have new City Connect jerseys that look like Bulls jerseys! To be honest, you probably could have bought something that looked just like this for dirt cheap at the swap meet… Don’t worry; that wasn’t one of my things to be happy about.
Second thing to be happy about, besides turning in a better record than last year, is that the Sox MLB worst record will be broken this year! Yes, rejoice! This is one record that you don’t mind someone else owning. You see how bad the Colorado Rockies are? They are currently 6-28. Spread that out through 162 and you get about… 35 wins! Yes, the Rockies can get slightly better and they STILL may not win 41 games; we can only hope. So, besides that Sox gear you’re still rocking, which I respect, go out and buy some Rockies merchandise; they will hopefully erase a little shame from last year’s record breaking performance.
Finally, and yes, there’s one more thing; the Sox could still win the crosstown Series, which for years like this, IS the World Series. Beating the Cubs is better than… I’m sure there are a lot of things you can plug in there. It shouldn’t happen, but you just never know. So, keep the faith. Although Luis Robert may be traded soon, there are no other stud pitchers like Sale, Cease, or Crochet to move, so… be careful Shane Smith; don’t keep pitching that well OK. Look, I don’t want to see the Sox this bad either, but I’m going to HAVE to take advantage of the $5 tickets at least one time this year. Hey, I could get decent seats for the Cubs game today for $26 per ticket…
OK, hope Sox fans feel a little better after reading this. Wear your Sox merchandise proudly, even though you just put more money in Reinsdorf’s tight ass pockets, unless of course, you got it as a free giveaway at a game last year. The Sox do have some pretty good giveaways; something else to be happy about!

It’s great to see the loyalty between Cubs and Sox fans, even when the teams are in such different places. I love how you’re giving credit to Sox fans for sticking with their team through tough times—it’s not easy! The mention of Ricobene’s and the ballpark food definitely made me hungry, though. I’m curious, do you think the Sox’s slight improvement this season is enough to keep fans hopeful? Also, the City Connect jerseys sound interesting, but do you think they’ll actually boost morale or just feel like a gimmick? And seriously, what’s the deal with Reinsdorf? Do you think the team would perform better with new ownership? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I think both the Bulls and Sox would be better off without Jerry and family. The jerseys look cheap; can’t even do that right. If you’re a fan of your team, you’re always hopeful, even though it may not be realistic.
