January 15, 2018: To Win or Not To Win

That is the question…

It’s a no brainer, right?  I mean, that’s why we play the games… to win.  Forget tanking… forget the silver lining of losing a game… forget the draft picks… we want wins, wins, wins!  And that’s exactly what the Bulls have been doing.  After their 3-whatever start, they have been playing very well.  And now, they get possibly their best player back in Zach Lavine.  What is a team to do?

This was supposed to be TankFest 2018.  With the upcoming NBA draft being one of the most loaded drafts in a while, the timing was right.  The Bulls would have a top 3 pick and improve their team immediately.  Hold the phone; the Bulls players didn’t get that memo.  They’re winning ball games now.  They’re actually fun to watch.  This supposed crap filled roster isn’t so crappy after all.  But they’re not THAT good, right?

That’s really the question.  Good enough to call off the TankFest, but still bad enough to not matter.  They’re 6 games out of the playoffs, yet, they’re that many games out of last place too.  Even if they keep up with this pace… which they probably won’t… they will make the playoffs, but as a lower seed.  And then what?  Upset time?

OK, even if they COULD pull of an upset in the first round, then what?  I guess the answer to that sentence at some point will be the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Could we beat them in a 7 game series?  Let’s say you’re in the 10 percent that thinks we could, then what?  The answer to that is the Golden State Warriors.  We played them once and got pasted.  They are our next opponent at the UC on Wednesday night.
There are no recent studies, which are conducted to levitra 20mg price back such claims. In Arizona’s Ahwatukee Foothills News ‘Tukee sildenafil online uk Talk January 17 post, news reporter Allison Hurtado writes about the “Natural Ways to Boost Your metabolism and shed the extra weight. It must cute-n-tiny.com professional cialis 20mg not be loose or slipping. Unani medicine may help in this case since it is a tried and tested medical therapy which has been in existence pharmacy on line viagra since the ancient era in India.
So if we beat the Warriors Wednesday night, we change gears to win now?  It’s a tough situation.  The great thing is seeing guys that are going to be here play well, like the Butler trifecta, Dunn, Markkanen, and now, Lavine.  Not a bad starting point… so these guys are not going anywhere, period.  They may be enough to keep us in that middle ground regardless of who else we move.

I was all about moving Niko, RoLo, even Holliday… but only if we’re going to get a first round pick… or another young guy that we could use for the next decade.  But like I said, even if we move them, we still could win with what is left, and miss out on the top draft pick… or maybe we could get lucky.

Remember how lucky we got to get Derrick?  That was awesome.  Yes, the end of that story was cruel, but it was good for a while.  Could the Bulls trade off some guys, keep improving, have two 1st round picks, AND get lucky to get one of those in the top 3?  Talk about having your cake and eating it too… but aren’t the Bulls due for some good luck?

I would say yes.  Decades removed from the dynasty… the most recent awesome team spread across the NBA… it’s time to build a new one, and like anything, it helps to get breaks along the way.  How will this turn out?  Keep watching and Go Bulls!

How bout those Bulls? Yes, they are 10 games under .500, but who would have thought that, especially after the start they had. They are 6 games out of the final playoff spot and have a better record than 8 other teams in the nba…go figure. Here we thought they would be dead last. I think I picked them to win less than 30 games. They already have 17 wins and their best player just started playing. Will they keep pushing toward that final playoff spot? Will they trade more guys away to try to derail this winning? Who knows. I do know that they are fun to watch. Was lucky enough to attend their last game vs the heat (thanks again UJ and AC), and they have some good young talent. I love what I see from Markk…he looks like a star in the making. Lavine is playing limited minutes but looks super solid. Dunn looks good, too, but tends to kill possessions dribbling around too much…he is young and will learn. The Bulls have impressed me so far this year. Who knows if it will continue but here’s to hoping the breaks start going their way! GO BULLS!!!
