January 21, 2018: Brady and the Rest

Championship Sunday featured the great QB and three other guys.  It was Brady and the rest, and he showed us why again.

I’m so sick of the Patriots.  I feel like this has been said by thousands of people outside of Boston after the Pats advanced again this weekend.  I didn’t watch much of the game… I was getting score updates.  Jacksonville was leading early; I was happy.  The last update I got was 20-10 Jags, before I actually turned on the game.  It was now 24-20 Pats, and the Jags had it on 4th down.  Bortles made what looked like a great pass, but it was broken up by an even nicer play by the CB.  There was still time.. but after a 3rd down run that moved the chains (with a missed holding call), the game was iced.  It was official; Brady would be going after number six.

I saw the video on Twitter…of the official going up to Brady as soon as the game was over.  I saw the one with the ref smiling in the middle of a Pats TD celebration.  I saw the penalty discrepancy between the teams; only 1 penalty being called on New England, while Jacksonville, the least penalized defense in the league, got 98 yards worth.  We remember the whole tuck rule, the super bowl that changed the way pass interference would be called, SpyGate, Deflate Gate… all the countless games where the refs were in their pockets, including this Sunday.  Like I said, I’m so sick of the Patriots.

The other game was a shocker.  I listened to, and watched most of this one.  I thought it would be a close game; I thought the Vikings would pull it out.  I was wrong on both counts.  The Eagles absolutely dominated this defense of the Vikes.  One of those other guys, Nick Foles, turned in his 2nd impressive performance in a row in the playoffs.  I’m not sure this one could be topped.  If he does top this in 2 weeks, the Eagles will be hoisting their first Super Bowl trophy.  It was downright impressive… and those Philly fans… gotta love them.

Forget the game…. I was watching all the stuff that was happening outside the stadium.  The pelting of Vikings fans walking in with beer cans followed by the pelting of the Vikings bus leaving with beer cans.  All the crazy celebration videos, and or course, the guy running into the pole in the subway; classic stuff.  Go crazy Philly, you deserve it.  Die hard respect die hard.

Yeah, they may go over the top, but as long as anybody doesn’t get seriously hurt… go nuts.  Now the big question… can the Eagles beat the Pats?

I’ll tell you what… I’m liking that 5.5 points they’ll be getting.  It kind of reminds me of the Pittsburgh Arizona Super Bowl; I cashed in on that one in Vegas, taking the Cards plus the points.  They didn’t win straight up, but they covered like champs.  I do think Philly can win this one… I’m really hoping they do.  I’ll have to dust off the old Eagles McNabb jersey I had during our Madden Bowl years… nah, sold that bad boy a while ago.  Regardless, I will be an Eagles fan in 2 weeks.  F Brady and the cheating Pats!

Brady going for #6. He already is the greatest qb of all time in my opinion. I do not like the pats and belicheat, but I am a Brady fan. Not smart betting against him to win. Gronk concussed and the refs helping the pats out sound about right, like they need it.
As for the nfc, why bet against foles now? The guy is playing his best football, and the iggles D just dominated the poor viqueens. I was not sad to see them lose. Not a big philly fan, but their hard core fan base deserves a SB. Will they be able to take out the pats? Stay tuned. The line is juicy at +5.5…have to like the iggles and the points. Can they beat Brady and keep him at 5? Will the refs play a role? Will Brady’s legend grow? Enjoy the off week before things really pick up on Monday for SB week. Get those squares and bets in on time!
