Sunday was finally here. I haven’t looked forward to a Sunday this much since the Bears were playing. Yes, the Last Dance was finally dropping. Actually, it was dropping ahead of schedule. Originally, it wasn’t supposed to air until June, but with the COVID-19 shutting all sports down, it was moved up; genius! Now the whole world can see what all of us Bulls fans growing up in Chicago during that time already know… But first, there was some preparation needed…
I started weeks ago. I keep a jacket right by the front door, so that instead of going into the closet each morning between 6 and 7 AM to walk the dog, I can just grab and go. Obviously, I change the type of coat throughout the seasons; during this time of year, it’s a lighter coat. The coat of choice is an old Bulls hooded Starter jacket. Yep, rocking that bad boy as I walk through the hood with my pup. I actually got this jacket as a gift from my aunt; the jacket belonged to my other aunt, her sister. She passed away suddenly about 20 years ago. We had just seen her for a New Year’s Eve dinner, and a couple weeks later, she was gone. That aunt got my other aunt into sports, and in the 90s, the choice was clear: it was MJ & the Bulls. Actually, they were big fans of Phil Jackson too. I cherish this coat. I wore it to the UC before, and now, I’m wearing it pretty much every morning; perfect, especially right now. This wasn’t the only Bulls stuff that was handed down to me from my aunts. I have an entire bin of VHS tapes full of Bulls games. Sure, with YouTube, you can pretty much pull up any game, but I’m still going to hook my VCR up at some point and go through this precious vault of games. I just haven’t had time to do it. With the way things are going, looks like I’ll have plenty of time in the upcoming weeks. OK, where was I…

Funny side note: He’s asked me about Wu Tang Clan, because of the t-shirts we both have. I told him I’d let him listen to those songs when he got older, because there are too many “swears”. He responded with “But I listen to Maroon 5 and they swear”…. good point son… haha.
OK, so I got my jacket on, I’ve prepped my son since birth; I wore my “Love Is” shirt the day before which depicts Pippen helping Jordan off the floor after the Flu Game. The only thing that is left is for me to break out my pair of Jordans that I got a few years ago for my birthday… nah, I’m still holding out on those. Anyways, the day was here; let the show begin…
