Time for a betting check in. After taking my $100 investment back out, I took $200 of my winnings out of my Draft Kings account. Why did I do that? Well, I think once I built up a balance in my account, I started getting a little sloppy. “I’m up, I’m playing with house money, let’s bet on this and that and this and that” Maybe sloppy is a nice word; stupid would be more appropriate. So, let’s take out a chunk, make myself feel good about adding some money to my bank account, and help make me more disciplined with the remaining balance in my betting account. I guess that’s what my rationale was. Plus, even if I saw a situation where I wanted to “back up the truck”, this would limit how big that truck would be, because whenever I feel that good about a game… you know what they say… too good to be true doesn’t exist in sports betting. Ok, anyways, enough about the thoughts going on in my head.

I had a week off of betting. When I was on vacation in Florida, I could not use my account; I swear I thought Florida was on the list. It was probably a good thing. Sure, there were games I would have won; we seem to remember those… the leans that we don’t play that we would have won. What about the leans we were going to play that we would have lost; for some reason, those get lost in my brain… haha. Even more than that though, I was on vacation with my family; no need to look at this stuff now. Like I’m going to miss a big win… there are a ton of games every day… there will always be another opportunity to win (and of course lose) some money. Once we landed on Saturday evening, I took a peek, and nothing. As we relaxed on our one day before returning to normal, I stayed away… until the very last game of the night on Sunday. Yeah, I played the Wolves, and I lost; should have just started the week fresh… haha.

I went on a tear as the week started… adding $50 to my $100 balance, going 9-2; I was hot! Still betting small though; I really do think that’s the way to go. Another thing that always creeps in my head, AFTER I win a game… I should have bet more on it. On the flip side though, after I lose a game, it always feels good to say I’m glad I only bet X on this game… I think I like that feeling more. As the week progressed, the games started to look a little less clear to me, yet I still prodded ahead, and of course, hit the down swing of this roller coaster ride. As Saturday night would down, I lost on the Grizzlies ML, but won on an in game bet; I won on my Devils bet, but lost on a Kraken bet. I limped my way to the finish line of a rough couple days, still up $25 for the week… but the week isn’t over quite yet. There is Sunday to go. I will be busy… maybe that’s a good thing. I’m definitely staying away from the Timberwolves who have burned me multiple times this week, but how about the Kings??? We’ll see. Either way, I want to be able to say, I had a winning week; stack those up, and I’ll keep this thing going. Thanks for reading my betting update… haha.
