August 16, 2020: Slump

OK, I guess I’m finally going to have to write about the Cubs and their first slump of the year. It’s a funny feeling losing games; I didn’t miss it.

The starting pitching has been carrying us; I realized that even more after this weekend. First off, Chatwood was scratched late; he’s on the injured list now. This pushed Mills up to start on Friday night. He pitched well; he’s been pitching well. There was one pitch he probably would have liked back. Yelich is still hitting close to his weight, but he has had some big hits. His three run homer off Mills gave the Brewers the lead and eventually the game. Due to Chatwood being out, and Mills being pushed up, we needed a starter for Saturday’s game; up steps Colin Rea. He’s been OK out of the pen. How would he do as a starter? He pitched OK; he definitely gave us a chance to win this, yet we were trailing by a run late. Souza then put one in the basket down the left field line; I was feeling it then. The Cubs would win this game. Why wouldn’t I feel like this? All they’ve been doing is win. To extras we went, and Jeffress was perfect no more. Interestingly enough, if that runner that starts the inning on 2nd scores, it doesn’t count as a earned run against the pitcher. So even after Yelich touched home, Jeffress’ ERA remained 0.00. It was when the Brewers scored that second run, where the perfect ERA was ruined, and the Cubs back was broken. The Cubs scratched one across, but another one run loss.

Sunday brought Lester. The Cubs gave him a 3-0 lead early, but would eventually get out hit 12 to 4 in this one. Same as Mills, that pitch to Hiura Jon would have probably liked back; same with the pitch to Arcia in the 5th. The Cubs went on to lose their 3rd straight one run game. What gives?

The supplement industry has jumped on the fears of ED and pushed buy tadalafil cipla all sorts of pills and other medications that claim to help solve the issue of impotence. It is a cyclic lactam analog of alpha MSH with a range of amino acids. cialis cost This type of medicine is also may be found in cheap but the effect of the medicine are almost similar order cialis overnight to the well known Shilajith. Erectile dysfunction buy canada cialis or ED is the inability in the men to achieve the erection or sustain the erection for the longer period of time during the sexual intercourse.

Well, I’d like to see the Cubs score some more runs. They had scored enough this year to bail out the bullpen, but this weekend they were unable to bail out the starters. The starters weren’t horrible; Lester probably had the worst game funny enough. We cannot expect the starters to hold the opponent down every time. It’s funny how a few losses brings out the negatives. For example, winning all those games, you felt like the offense brought the timely hitting, that guys were getting hits up and down the lineup. After losing three games by the thinnest of margins, it’s.. what the heck is wrong with Baez? When will KB start hitting? When winning, none of that matters; when losing… have to find reasons why.

Would like to get back to talking about wins, especially with the sick birds coming into town. Actually, they’ve been in town, sweeping a double header from the Sox on Saturday, before getting back to back to back to backed on Sunday; that was cool. Monday will bring a doubleheader to Wrigley; one of them will feature Hendricks on the mound. Who can stop this losing streak? Jon couldn’t; need a big game Kyle. A bunch of runs would be helpful too. Go Cubs!
