Yes, my son did ask why he didn’t catch the fly ball in the 2nd game; certainly looked like a catchable ball. His defense may not be the greatest, but he can swing it. He wasn’t the hottest Sox player this weekend, but certainly looked like he will remain one of the top offensive threats on this team. Then there’s Luis Robert. OK, yeah, I talked crap about him… about the Sox giving him that big deal, about the rookie of the year talk, about the MVP talk. Sure, he’s no MVP… yet, but this kid… man, he looks good, I can’t lie. He hits the crap out of the baseball and in center field, he makes it look easy. The Sox may have hit jackpot there. That’s a pretty formidable top three if you may, or maybe Sox fans insert Tim Anderson and/or Yoan Moncada in there. Now we’re talking five guys? The catchers? They have two good ones. Yes, their offense is good… and young. I do have a word of caution though.

As for the Cubs, I was just dogging Baez… getting my son upset. Dad, I have a Baez shirt; I said OK, but he needs to get his head out of his butt. His next AB was the double, and my son told me… see! Hey, I’m rooting for him to break out of it as much as the next guy; I love Javy. But man, has he been bad. Maybe he needs some time off with a finger injury or something too. The Cubs offense has been getting worse, not better, and that’s not a good sign. We knew the starting pitching wouldn’t be THAT good forever… Like Harry during the stretch said, let’s get some runs! We’re still in first place. At 17-10, the season is almost halfway over! That’s crazy. The Pirates may be out of it, but all our other division mates are hanging around. Let’s get back to business boys. Go Cubs!
