Saturday night was the start of the wrapping season in our house. Typically my wife will buy all the gifts, and I’ll wrap them; pretty good deal I think. I pretty much got all my son’s stuff done already…
It’s funny. The other day he asks us if we get him anything for Christmas… since you know, everything says “from Santa” or some other form. I remember my parents doing that for our gifts too. It was never from Mom and Dad; it was always Santa Claus, S. Claus, North Pole, etc. I do the same for my son’s gifts. By the time he reads this, he’ll be old enough to have figured it out for himself. I love that he still believes. I signed some from the elves we have in our house. He’s really big on the whole elf on the shelf thing. We never had that growing up; I think it’s a relatively new thing. Anyways, we had 2 elves, and have added 2 more this year. We have a Bulls one (Michael), a Bears one (Walter), a Blackhawks one (Bobby), and one with my son’s name. The only one we’re missing is Ernie… Every morning he wakes up looking for these guys. It’s great.
So I told him, well, yes, me and Mom work closely with Santa. He said, you don’t have his number! This kid… haha. Anyways, when is enough enough with the number of gifts you get your kid? Having only one, it feels like there is no limit; we just picked up a couple more the other day. Yeah, it’s all about the NFL. The Packers won on Saturday too, which, I hate to say it, could end up being a good thing for us as we head down the stretch here. But first thing’s first… we need to beat the Vikings on Sunday. How’d we do?
