December 27, 2019: Blackhawk Down

The Blackhawks were back on the ice Friday night at the UC trying to bounce back off an embarrassing loss to the Devils. They are now winners of 3 of their last 4 games; doesn’t really feel like it though. Last places is still where we sit in the standings; that can’t be good. We also found some season ending news for a couple of our defenders.

Calvin de Haan had surgery on his right shoulder. What seemed like a promising young defenseman will miss the rest of the year. He’ll be back next year. Then there’s Brent Seabrook; he had the same shoulder thing going on, same shoulder too, and will also miss the rest of the year. For many folks, that may be viewed at as a positive thing… the Seabrook one, not the de Haan one.

We all know Seabrook isn’t the player he once was; we all know that any one of us would have taken the kind of contract Brent was offered by the Blackhawks. Would we trade what we accomplished with Seabrook as part of this team with what he is now? Heck no.

It is what it is I guess. It’s not our fault; it’s not his fault. The person who gave him that ridiculous deal is at fault, correct? I mean, the Hall of Fame coach took the fall first time around; is he even a Hall of Fame GM? What are we waiting for? Maybe you think what Stan did was honorable. We paid Brent for his past successes; we guaranteed his long term future. Isn’t that the least we can do for a guy who played such a big part of winning 3 Stanley Cups? Ever think of it like that?

Each dosage has specific missions and shouldn’t be mixed. 2.5 mg and 5 mg are the dosage http://secretworldchronicle.com/tag/overwatch/ viagra generic usa suitable for daily users. I’m kind of thinking Brent was guilted into this whole thing. He was healthy scratched a few times this year; there were rumblings, heck, the words out of his own mouth told us he wasn’t happy. Then there was an undisclosed issue for a recent scratch or two; now this? Seems kind of fishy to me. I hope Brent recovers fully. Sounds like he got some other work done while they were at it; will he be a contributor in 2020-2021?

I’m still on the fence about the Hawks in general this year. There are moments where I think they are a playoff team; there are moments when I ask myself who am I kidding. Maybe it’s out of desperation, about to see the Bears miss the playoffs; seeing the Bulls play the way they are. But hey, the Bulls can make the playoffs under 500! The Blackhawks aren’t so lucky.

Yes, they’ll need to play some pretty good hockey from here on out; there’s no better time than the present. I guess 3 out of 4 wins qualifies? See you in Columbus on Sunday; go Hawks!
