I’m sure he can share this experience with his teammates. I’m sure he’s thrilled to be on the White Sox, a team on a big upward swing. This looks like a really good move by the Sox.
Are Sox fans going to miss Dane Dunning? I’m guessing not too much, although you never can tell with players that are traded out of Chicago. Somehow, many of them go on to have great careers. But that’s OK, as long as the acquisition of Lynn leads to a World Series ring. I’ll never understand those Cubs fans whining about trading away Gleybar Torres. Yeah, I get it; he’s a really good player. But remember who we got for him? Remember who was a big, big reason why we won? Yeah, I’d do that trade every single time. Getting that ring is the ultimate goal, and if a trade/acquisition helps achieve that, then it was successful. There’s nothing wrong with a trade being good for both sides. We may not see that as often, but that’s really the goal in each of these deals, right? Well, it should be. Whether it’s shedding cash, getting younger, adding a veteran for win-now mode, there is always some rationale behind the move.
