It’s that time of year. Yeah, my brother’s birthday was in January, but once February rolls around, it’s really birthday time!
February 12th is one of my friends that I used to work with; I’ve stayed in touch with her throughout the years. She was one of the people that was in our group back in the day, that would always get together and have a good time, whether it was after work or at the apartment; she was always there. Those days are long gone, but I still see her every now and then. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get together, and do lunch because of the whole COVID thing, but I’m sure we’ll do it soon. February 18th is another one of my friends from the job. He is a big time sports fan, specifically Notre Dame and the White Sox. I have no problem with Notre Dame, but man have we had some back and forth about the Cubs and Sox. Unlike a lot of Sox fans I know, this guy knows his stuff, AND he knows a lot about the Cubs. You have to know a lot about the “other team” in order to go back and forth intelligently talking crap. You can’t just spew the same “stadium smells like piss” or “nobody goes to the game” type stuff. No, you need to get deep; this is why I keep up with the Sox. In fact, I know more about the Sox than a lot of Sox “fans”. Always have to be ready to go, you know. This guy is also a hall of famer; no joke. He’s in the 16 inch softball hall of fame. I didn’t realize how good he was when we had our softball games at the job back in the day. He was a true ringer on the other team. We held our own though, but he was on another level. Haha… good times. I miss sitting across from him bantering all day about the Cubs and Sox.

Next up is today, February 22nd. Of course there was February 17th, and although I don’t know him personally, I love him just the same; yes, that was MJs birthday. But yes, today, my sister reaches another year on this planet; HBD R. But it doesn’t stop there. February 25th, good friend from LA; February 28th, my dad; March 3rd, my father in law; March 4th, my niece; March 12th, my wife. Yes, it’s definitely that time of year when the birthdays are rolling in fast and furious. Lots of rain checks on the birthday parties starting around this time last year won’t be cashed completely until next year most likely, but we’ll still get together one way or another.
