Nowadays, with online gambling legal and at your fingertips, you can pretty much bet on anything you’d like on an NBA game in the regular season in the middle of the week; it didn’t always used to be this way. The only time you could get into serious “props” was in the Super Bowl; the only place you could bet these (legally) was in Las Vegas. Thus, Vegas was a very popular spot for the Super Bowl. This year, Vegas hosts a Super Bowl. With gambling blowing up across the country, and becoming more and more less taboo, the NFL finally came to Vegas, and now, the big game… crazy times. But back to the subject of this blog…
It’s prop time! Normally, I don’t play many of these from game to game. Once in a while, I’ll bet on a player in the NBA, but most of the time, I’m just straight betting on the line of the game; I don’t even get too much into totals. But for the “big game”… I need to dip my toes in. Here’s what I’m looking at so far:
Anytime TD Scorers— This is a pretty standard one. In fact, predicting who will score a TD is nothing new. Besides fantasy football, I have someone who has been in a “TD league” for years. Everybody drafts players each week who they think will score a TD; you ONLY get points if they score… the longer the better. I’m going to take one popular choice and one “long shot”. Give me Deebo Samuel & Kyle Juszczyk.
Rushing/Receiving Yards— Another one that is pretty standard; sorry for keeping it so basic… haha. I’m taking one on the rushing yards, and it’s not even a running back! See, I’m not keeping it THAT basic. Give me Deebo again, this time over 16.5 rushing yards. On the receiving yards, my first choice isn’t a WR! Give me Kyle Juszczyk again, this time over 4.5 receiving yards. One catch man… For my final basic prop, I’m taking a WR over their receiving yards, except not the one you think. I’m taking Jauan Jennings over 14.5 receiving yards. For all the talk this week about props, haven’t heard a peep about this one, which is why this one is my favorite. If the KC defense is as good as advertised, I’m sure they will have their hands full with all the SF weapons, like CMC, Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle; maybe they forget about JJ? Again, could be one catch that gets me there…
Maybe I should take some KC props, kind of hedge my SF bets on the game… nah. Maybe I should be on some crazy prop, like the length of the longest drive over 77.5 yards. Maybe I should throw a little cheddar on the coin toss; always go heads by the way. Maybe… still have plenty of time before that first kick off, but these are the ones I’ll be locking in soon. Do we have more to talk about with this game? I think we do…
