First up on Sunday is the AFC Championship game. It’s the Chiefs. It’s the Ravens. Let’s get it on!
The Ravens are the best team in the NFL; agree or disagree? If you say the Niners, I can’t be mad, but I can point at Christmas Day. How about last week? Texans played them to a tie in the first half, and then? Ravens crushed them. Is this the same Lamar Jackson? Certainly winning last weekend did not prove that he could win the big game; that would start with a win this weekend. Is it finally Lamar’s time?
What about the other sideline? Patrick Mahomes is the NFL golden boy, meaning, they will protect and promote him at all costs. He’s been in the AFC Championship game the last 6 years! We’re preparing for another Brady type run with this dude. The Chiefs have not been that great this year, but it doesn’t matter, does it? They’re getting hot at the right time, right? Well… let’s look at the playoffs thus far. They get Miami, who can’t beat a good team, at home in the elements; can’t believe I bet the Dolphins looking back. Just thought it was too easy for KC, and when it’s too easy… there goes that theory. Then, they get Buffalo. On the surface, it looks like a fabulous win on the road in Buffalo, however, how were the Bills this year? They had to win out just to MAKE the playoffs, and because the Dolphins wilted away, they actually snuck out the division. Plus, their defense… how many guys were they down in that game? Their LB core was destroyed. Von Miller was a no-show all year. Their defense, which was much improved this year, preparing for this game in the playoffs, was killed by injuries, and even the KC offense, nowhere near as good as they have been, was able to do enough. Oh yeah, and no Gabe Davis, and Diggs was a no-show… Allen couldn’t do it by himself. So… how good are the Chiefs? I think we’re going to find out.
Will the NFL force the Chiefs (and Taylor Swift) into the Super Bowl? If the NFL sits back and lets the 2 teams on the field on Sunday in Baltimore fight a fair fight, I like the Ravens. Is it too much to think the NFL won’t interfere? Should I ignore the fact that the referee they assigned to this game favors the road teams on a consistent basis? How many BS calls with the Chiefs get? I’m trying not to let my hate of the Chiefs shine through here, but… they do get the calls, consistently. Why whine so much when a call went against them? To present the impression that the Chiefs get screwed too? Very good scripting, let me tell you. What do the script writers have in mind for the AFC Championship game?
Both defenses are very good. Both kickers are very good. The Ravens offense is better than the Chiefs. This simple math should equal a Ravens win. Yet, Mahomes and Reid vs Lamar and Harbaugh? This is what muddies the water. Mahomes as an underdog… Don’t bet against Patrick Mahomes? Well, I guess I’ll just have to take that chance. This is why they call it gambling.
Ravens -4 Chiefs is my pick; I’ve already bet on it. Thinking about putting more on it once the Chiefs money comes in late, and maybe a little on the ML, to protect myself against a 3 point W. The Ravens are the better team. The best team doesn’t always win. In this case, I think they will. Beat those Chiefs, please! And NFL… let them fight it out on the field, fairly, please!
