July 1, 2020: Second Half

We said goodbye to the first half of 2020 taking a trip to Portillo’s with the family. As if the day couldn’t get any more perfect… enjoying that dipped combo, man. All that remained was the cherry… Well, you know, you can’t always get what you want…

Yes, welcome to the second half of 2020; yay! Who’s excited? Who’s with me? Shit, it has to be better than the first 6 months. No need to go over how the hell we got here; only need to worry about the present day, and get ready for what the rest of this glorious year will hold. Although it started off like crap… yeah, I’m back at work after a day off; as if coming back to work after every weekend isn’t tough enough, coming back from a legit day off, yeah, we inched our way in this morning. Imagine trying to return from a week off. OK, so it ain’t that bad. Damn is it a beautiful day today.

July 2020 will feature the return of live sports into our lives; we hope. OK, going to try to keep it positive from here on out, and not worry about the potential of things to go wrong, like players getting COVID, player opting out of 2020, all plans being shut down, states returning to a lockdown, the return of COVID pt 2 which is worse than pt 1. Yeah, let’s just stick to the plan. MLB workouts will begin on July 3rd. NHL training camps should open in the second half of the month. The NBA will return on July 30th. Let’s get it on.

How will this 60 game season go? Well, from my perspective, that bodes well for the Cubs and their aging rotation; Lester, Quintana, Darvish should be good to go pitching less than half the innings they’d normally throw. With such a short season, I really believe any team has a shot. All you have to do is get hot for a minute, string together a double digit winning streak, or like 10 out of 12, something like that, and bam… you’re in good shape. The long roller coaster of a ride that the MLB season typically features will be one quick sprint. It’s only three times as long as a potential playoff season!

Most people are surprised to learn just how important proper breathing techniques are to their overall cialis on line greyandgrey.com health status. Physical therapy is one among the effective treatment options for ED: While some men experience ED after attaining a certain age, probably after 40 years. discount viagra online An extension of apical periodontitis is apical abscess when the bacteria get into the peri-radicular tissues and cause an erection. acheter viagra pfizer Conversely, implement towards drinks through the process of learning to drive at either buy levitra professional age 15 or age 16.

Only reason I’m concerned about the NHL is because the Hawks were gifted into the postseason. Thing about it is, if they do lose their series against the Oilers, they have a 12.5% chance of getting the overall number one pick; are we feeling lucky?

And then there’s the NBA… here we go; how to get Lebron another title will be printed on all of the officials’ 2020 COVID shortened instruction manuals. Call all flops. Any close calls go his way. Call every foul you can on the other team. If need be, throw a COVID diagnosis in for the other team to cripple them. Too far? Maybe… but if it didn’t already feel that way about Lebron and the Lakers in general, then you had the Kobe tragedy, and now you have the COVID controlled environment of game play. Go Clippers!

Oh yeah, what about the NFL? It’s coming, even if Florida, Texas, and Arizona really tried to mess it up for us. Just think if they had listened… OK, ok… keeping it positive. Yes, the NFL will be back as normal; Bear Down baby.

So much more to analyze & discuss as the details come out about each sport and its modified return to play. I told my son the other day the Blackhawks will be back soon; he was concerned about them catching COVID… It’s a valid point. Just as his baseball season was trashed, should all sports be dumped for 2020 as we try to ensure we’re good with the virus? Not going to end on a negative note, not going to end on a negative note…. Dammit! Hello 2nd half of 2020… hold on for your damn lives!!!
