July 14, 2014: Mercilessly Over

You name it… the Melo-Drama, the 1st half of the baseball season, or the World Cup.  I’m ready to put all of it in the rear view mirror.

So Melo went for the money… you think I was going to let him off the hook that easy?  Obviously, we all know now that winning is NOT important to him.  If you think he has a shot to win with the Knicks in the next 3 years, you are an idiot.  Can Phil turn the Knicks into a winner?  Maybe.  Eventually.  Not any time in the near future.  The fact of the matter is, Carmelo isn’t even that great.  He’s a scorer, one of the best.  That’s it.  He has nothing else to his game.  No defense.  No passing.  Not sure if he knows the meaning of team.  So, congratulations to both the Knicks and Melo… you deserve each other.  I just love the way he said he’s from New York now.  He WAS born in Brooklyn, like the one and only, Michael Jordan.  However you don’t hear Jordan saying he’s from New York.  He grew up in North Carolina, just like Melo grew up in Baltimore.  I call fraud on Melo on all counts.  Enjoy your ringless life you loser.

How about Chicago baseball?  It just doesn’t get any better.  Try a combined 20 games under .500.  The Cubs are leading the charge at 14 under, while the Sox are doing their best to keep up at 6 under.  The Cubs entered the all star break losers of 8 of their last 10, while the Sox bullpen choked away another one Sunday.  It’s hard to watch.  It’s hard to keep the faith that I keep preaching about every few blogs.  This is just flat out brutal.  Sure, there are good things to talk about on both sides of town, but I’m not thinking about any of that right now.  All I see are 2 baseball teams in the 3rd biggest market in the United States that flat out suck right now.  Let’s try to enjoy the all-star break watching our 4 best players… the only good players we have… and yeah, I’m not even counting Alexei.  Let’s enjoy the next couple days because the 2nd half of the season starts Friday.  When does football season start?

The world cup is over… thank God.  Talk about the most boring sport in history.  I got into for a little bit, and I really enjoyed the penalty shootouts, but this sport is terrible.  How could this be the biggest sport in the world?  This world cup final went 119 minutes until Germany scored to prevent the penalty shootout, which I was looking forward to.  To play a sport for 2 hours and not have one goal…  you got to be kidding me.  Imagine if they didn’t go to penalty kicks after 120 minutes.  What if they kept playing until someone scored?  This could go on for 4 hours with not one team scoring a goal.  Killing me softly.  Imagine a NHL playoff game going 4 hours without scoring?  That’s 9 OT’s.  How about a baseball game going 15 innings with a score of 0-0?  How about football going 12 OT’s with no score?  Put a fricking bullet in my head.  The penalty shootout is the best part of the game.  The shootouts that I was able to watch were actually pretty exciting; the complete opposite of the rest of the game.  See you in 4 years soccer… I won’t miss you.

How about Luol Deng signing with the Miami Heat?  Geez, the Bulls warrior who played so many tough games against this team, is now going to be playing for them.  That’s going to be tough to see, although that’s not really going to help the Heat that much, especially if Wade comes here, which is maybe the last option for the Bulls, unless you want crazy man Stephenson.  About the only good news coming out of today, was the signing of Kirk Hinrich, AND the late breaking news that Mirotic is finally coming.  I see Kirk retiring with us.  Here’s another guy that was forced to start last year, when we got him to come off the bench.  Once he returns to that role, I see him being even more effective.  His leadership and toughness is much appreciated by this die-hard.  As far as Mirotic goes, it’s a big question mark, and I’ll have to reserve my comments on him until further notice.  If he can be like Toni Kukoc was for us, that would be a huge success.  That’s about the best we can hope for.  Now that he is finally coming, I think the Bulls are done in free agency.  I also think DJ is gone, which is unfortunate.

I think it’s time to start writing about some football.  DA Bears do have a really good shot at winning it all this year.  They started off as 25-1 odds to win it all, and now sit at 8-1; that’s 5th best odds to win the Super Bowl.  Easy to call it on paper, harder to earn it by playing week to week, staying healthy, and getting hot at the right time.  I’m ready though.  I’m ready for another football season, although anything less than a Super Bowl trophy will be a disappointment.  We go big here; no half stepping.  It’s all or nothing.  We already know how our baseball seasons will end; time to look ahead to the best sport in the world.

Man am I glad I am out of New York. They have no chance of winning, especially without me and my elite talents! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was a little out of shape last year, and I got myself into some off the court drama, but playing beside melo every game drives me to eat and get crazy. I mean, the guy could care less about winning. As long as he can chuck up 30+ shots a game, he is happy. And then to drag out the free agent process and they say his heart never wavered, but a close source said he was still undecided as of Friday. Well which is it? I knew you were going nowhere ever since Phil came onboard and you guys had that man shake agreement. Way to go through the motions melo! NY is the mecca of basketball? Huh?!? They havent won a damn thing in over 40 years! Way to get that money melo. Now you can follow pat ewing’s footsteps and never win anything! I am on the road to slimming down and never domestically abusing anyone again. All thanks to leaving you melo! Have fun putting up 30+ every night with nothing to show for it!
