One of my friends had never flown; he was, to put it lightly, a bit paranoid. So, what would any good friends do before he stepped foot on the plane for the first time? That’s right, get him drunk. We hit that airport bar in Midway hard; couple beers, couple shots of Tequila before boarding. And oh yeah, this was pre-911, which meant you could bring alcohol on the plane.. and yeah, we did. We brought a huge bottle of Grey Goose with us. And oh yeah, this was before COVID, so we passed that bad boy around our whole section of the plane. We hid it inside one of the pillow cases, as we passed it back and forth across the aisle, up and down the rows, with everybody taking a shot before passing. Safe to say this was one of the best flights ever. We were getting loud and obnoxious; I’m just happy they didn’t turn the plane around. When they announced we were making the descent into Vegas, we went crazy.
This party didn’t stop once we got off the plane. We rented a limo and instructed them to go directly to a liquor store, where we picked up a case of beer. We had the driver drive up and down the strip as we drank our beers before we got to the hotel. Don’t you just love being drunk off your ass and it’s barely noon time? That’s Vegas baby. And oh yeah, we went all day & all night long; ah, to be young again. I don’t recall how that first night ended, but I’m sure it was face down on the hotel room bed; thankfully when I woke up I still had my clothes on.
