June 3, 2014: Moving On

Just like the Blackhawks season is over, my vacation is over.  Landing at Midway last night just after midnight, we’re back to reality.  It was a fun time in Vegas, except of course for the last night, when the Hawks got knocked out.  It’s nice to be back on my PC as well; doing my blog from my iPhone was difficult.  As the first day in Chicago starts, we begin to move on from the Hawks defeat.

Living in Chicago, there are always plenty of things to look forward to. The biggest thing with the Hawks losing is now what.  With both baseball teams being subpar, the summer could be a long one.  I don’t agree 100%.  I love baseball, and enjoy watching as much as possible.  Yes, the Cubs are 14 games under .500, and own the worst record in baseball.  But…  this could be the summer of Baez and Bryant.  Two of the top Cubs prospects should be arriving this summer, and that is exciting.  Some people may say the Cubs are a long way from contending; I am not one of them.  This Cubs team can contend as early as NEXT year.  Crazy?  I don’t think so.  With some prospects bolstering this lineup, a few free agent signings (at least one big one!), the resigning of the Shark, the Cubs team can be a whole lot better.  We’ve seen teams that have had huge turnarounds from year to year, even worst to first.  I’m not saying the Cubs will finish in first place, but I think .500 can be a reality, and with the additional wild card spots, the wild card is in reach.  On the other side of town, the Sox are just under .500.  Abreu is back, and picked up right where he left off with another HR.  If he and Sale can stay healthy, this team may contend for a wild card spot THIS year.  That’s not too far fetched.  This team has problems of course, with their pitching being a major one, but with the offense, and some improved pitching, the Sox could bring some excitement to the Cell this year… maybe even enough to put some fans in the seats.

So as baseball is in full swing, football and Da Bears sit right around the corner.  Training camp is right around the corner, with the regular season following.  I like the Bears’ chances this year.  I would have bet the over on that 8 win number all day every day.  The defense has to be better; it can’t get any worse.  With the offense looking great, we don’t need the #1 defense in the league; the middle of the pack would suffice.  With the tandem of Marshall and Jeffery, and a healthy Forte in the backfield, the Bears offense is no slouch.  We should be able to put up 24+ pts on the regular.  That should be enough to win plenty of games.

Sadly, all men enjoy these love-games up to a certain age because as they age, the quality of their hard-on begins falling and they find it difficult to cope with the pressure will not be able more helpful tabs viagra properien to perform in bed. BURDOCK (Arctium lappa/minor) Burdock has been used since ancient times as the Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Sumerians and Hebrews have used these products and researched themselves. buy cheap sildenafil I look forward to the Bulls as well.  With a healthy Rose returning and the addition of a big free agent (or not), this Bulls team will be among the best in the league.  With the NBA draft right around the corner, we will see some NBA action very soon.  Of course, the NBA finals will be starting tomorrow, and the whole city will be rooting for the Spurs.  Hopefully, Ray Allen doesn’t save Lebron’s ass again.  Although I won’t be watching much, as I mentioned, a Spurs series win will make me feel a lot better.

Back to the Hawks, as I continue to try to talk myself out of my funk.  This team is still loaded.  I think this summer will be a busy one for the Hawks that we will discuss in detail.  The team will definitely have some different pieces next year, but more importantly, they’ll still have the core.  I look forward to the Blackhawks being right back in the mix next year.

So we’re trying to move on.  It will suck watching the Stanley Cup finals play out, and knowing that the Hawks would have kicked the Rangers ass.  I won’t be able to root for the Kings, and probably won’t watch much of the series.  Believe it or not, I’d rather watch some Chicago baseball than either one of the Finals series going on.  I can’t concern myself with the rest of the sports world, there’s plenty to focus on here.  There’s plenty to look forward to right here in Chicago.
