Happy Holidays! It’s the best time of the year, and I’m not talking about Christmas. Of course, it’s the madness, the brackets, the tourney; the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is upon us. It’s the best betting time of the year!!! I’m so glad I made it…
Yes, I have a balance in my Draft Kings account to celebrate this appropriately, throwing bets on teams like Fairleigh Dickinson; you’re damn right I did! I’m not quite at the $500 tier, which was only about $85 away at one point, but my $250 in winnings should suffice… at least for the first weekend. Yeah, it won’t be quite like Vegas, but sitting on my couch with the remote firmly in one hand, and my phone checking the live betting lines in the other, I’m going to enjoy the heck out of it… at least Thursday’s games. I’ve already locked 10 plays, which sounds like a lot, but when you consider, counting the first four games on Tuesday and Wednesday, that there will be a total of 36 games played between today and Friday evening, it ain’t too bad. And so what if it is??? It’s March Madness for God’s sake. If I’m going to go out, I’m going to go out in flames, during my favorite betting time of the year!

After the UCLA loss the other night in the Pac 12 final, I was really bummed out. Yes, I lost a chunk on that game, but more so because we are UCLA fans; tough way to end that game. Arizona, squeaking one out, with 2 Pac 12 defensive players of the year out for the Bruins, and the 2 other centers on the roster fouling out in the middle of the 2nd half… lucky bastards. But have no fear… I will be riding the Bruins in my brackets. Of course, not counting on the return of Clark, but Bona should be back, and that should be enough. They are my National Champion pick, joined by Alabama, Purdue, and Texas in the Final Four. This shit is great!!!
I got a chuckle when my wife sent me a text to print the brackets out… you kidding me? If there is one thing I don’t need a reminder on, it’s this. Follow up with the fence guys; OK remind me. Put up the shelves in my son’s room; OK remind me. Print out the March Madness brackets? Hell to the No!!! Priorities man!!! I sent a text to the guy who has been running the bracket pool forever (he said him and his brother have been doing this since 1992!!!), and he said they think they’re OUT this year. What is this world coming to???? Yeah, maybe it’ll only be $5 between family this year, but that’s cool… until UCLA wins it all, and I “lose” $600… haha.
OK, well, the first play in game will be starting soon. Ready to lock some live bets on the Islanders… haha. Yeah, this $250 may go really quick… but that’s OK. I covered the NFL playoffs and made it to March Madness; check, double check. Worst case, I’m breaking even; triple check. Then I can reload before football season in Fan Duel and get some more free bonus bets… haha. Enjoy the season!!!
