The Bears are living in QB hell with Andy Dalton being the latest, and not so greatest, QB to join those ranks here as a Bear. I didn’t want to whiplash react to this one… unfortunately, my initial feelings are still the same as my feelings today. This was one hell of a disappointing signing, and we’ve had our share. Sure, is Andy Dalton better than the only other QB currently under contract on our team in Nick Foles? Yes, hell yes… that’s not saying too much though. Is Andy Dalton a better option than Mitch Trubisky? No, hell no; I’d much rather have another year of Trubisky than Dalton… that’s just sad to say.
It’s sad because when we had our chance to get THAT guy we blew it, and now the guy we did take will be out of here. It’s sad because we never really tried to get another guy that could be THAT guy; Trubisky is the only QB that Pace ever drafted. It’s sad because this is just another retread, and not a very good one at that, who will most likely be our starting QB next year, which means we’ll have another average at best offense while our talented defense is forced to carry us. The Bears will have to try to win in spite of our QB, which has been a very common mantra during my lifetime. When will it all change?

We can only hope it’s not the end of the Bears trying to get out of QB hell; we can only hope there is more to come at that position, this year, by any and all means possible. We’ve just bought another used pair of tires; how about one day we spring for the brand new, top of the line treads? Until then, we have to remain patient; what else can we do? Say we’re not going to be Bears fans any more… GTFOH with that shit. Die hard means we’re willing to die hard for this team… bringing in Dalton now only helps us with this slow death… so embrace it!
