May 19, 2014: Happy Monday

Yes, we are blessed to have a great start to the week thanks to the Blackhawks.  They beat the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals 3-1.  Saad, Keith, and Toews scored the goals, as Crawford was tremendous again.  Now 7-0 on home ice this postseason, the Hawks are the top point getting team from the regular season left in the playoffs, which means, they will have home ice advantage both this series and in the Stanley Cup finals if (when) they make it.  The Kings look to be a little more competition than the Wild, but not enough to shake my confidence.  It’s going to take a lot to take out this Hawks team.

The Queens played well in the 2nd period, as they outshot the Hawks 17-6.  They did that, plus got a gift call on the Toews non-goal, and still left the ice after the period down 1 goal.  Is this the best they got?  I would say no.  They are coming off another 7 game series victory on Friday night, which means they only had a day and a half to rest.  The Hawks meanwhile have been done since Tuesday… that’s 4 and a half days of rest.  I think you saw the difference in that first period as the Hawks looked like they were firing on all cylinders, while the Kings looked a step slow.  Again, they played a great 2nd period, but by the 3rd, the Hawks took control and put them away on a beautiful 3 on 1 goal.  With Oduya running the point, he had Hossa on his left and Toews on his right… can you really go wrong?  He flipped it to Toews and he made sure this goal counted, as he fired it past Quick.  Quick looked shaky at best.  He’s played well in the past against the Hawks, but not in recent history.  I’m going to give the Queens a little respect, and say Hawks will make this the 3rd straight series win in 6 games.

Blah, blah, blah.  I can keep saying great things about the Hawks all day, every blog… and it’s ALL true.  Is there anything BAD to say about this team right now?  Shall we try to nitpick?  OK, Shaw is still not back.  Although looking at the results it appears like we don’t need him, I say we do.  This series will turn into a grind-it-out battle, especially when we head to the West Coast.  It would be nice to have one of our best grinders on the ice.  He’s been out ever since that hit against the Wild in Game 1 with a lower body injury.  Can we get a little more specific on the injuries NHL?  It’s like the fricking New England Patriot injury report in the NFL where everybody is questionable.  Can we win without Shaw?  Sure.  I’d still like to get him back on the ice as soon as possible.  We may end up needing him more than we think.

Do not worry about Kamagra side canada viagra cheap effects amongst men. So that’s it, the only bad thing is Shaw being out with an injury?  Well, Rozsival actually saved a goal this game, and Leddy was involved with the first goal, so my 2 favorite defensemen are off the radar for now.  Absolutely nothing bad can be said about Crawford right now.  Sharp still is struggling, but I’m not that upset about it.  I guess that’s it, unless anyone wants to drop some “bad” news about the Hawks to me; I’m going to stop thinking about it, and enjoy the ride.

Congrats to the Cubs this weekend, for getting their 2nd series win of the year against the Milwaukee Brewers.  They are on a 2 game winning streak (Whoa!), and hosting the Yankees at Wrigley to begin the week.  Are the Cubs finally going to start winning some games?  I sure hope so.  The Sox lost their series to Houston (Ouch!).  Even worse, as predicted here by yours truly, Abreu has finally been put on the DL.  Sorry Sox fans, this may be something that will hamper him all year.  Eaton was back, and Sale is on the way, so there is some light.

Let’s hope the Blackhawk magic rubs off on every team in this city.  Winning is awesome!  It’s great to be the best and continue to play like it every game.  7 wins to go!  Happy Monday.

Hawks did not play well defensively yesterday. They gave up a few odd man rushes and/or breakaways. Crawford saved them or the D men fought back in the play to recover or save the rebounds. The Hawks can play better, but it is hard to complain when they still win 3-1, pretty easy game 1 in my mind. Queens will play better but so will the Hawks. Not sure about anyone else, but I was tired of hearing that broadcast team yesterday. It seemed like queen this, queen that. If I wasn’t watching, I would have thought the Hawks were losing. If nbc is smart, they would show the Hawks some respect and put their top 2 for the Hawks games! We are the defending Stanley Cup Champs! We havent been pushed to game 7s nor have we put ourselves on the brink like the queens this postseason. That alone should say enough. If and when it comes to that for the Hawks, we have been there before so I am not worried. Keep that perfect home record alive Wed night! GO HAWKS!

We’re spoiled with Eddie O. & Foley all season long, plus Eddie O. in a lot of the national games. Not really a fan of any of these other guys. NBC & the NHL has to play the Kings up, and anybody else for that matter, to curtail all the money pouring in on the Hawks in Vegas…haha. Don’t think anybody is stopping this train! Here come the Hawks, the mighty BlaaackHawks!!!

I know the Hawks are story #1, but I’m pretty surprised that you didn’t even mention the bonus game yesterday. I mean, the Pacers pretty well dominated that team from Cuba North! Sent them to the locker room licking their wounds. Be nice to see that continue……..

I don’t want to get happy about one game with the Heat… I will not be happy until they lose and are eliminated. It is nice to see them lose any game though…

The Queens? If you’re gonna make fun of another team, at least try and be original, you sound like a Cub fan.

    Oh wait….never mind.
