May 22, 2020: Post Game Interview

posted in: Bulls | 1

Yeah, well, I thought I was done talking about The Last Dance, but I’m not. I know there have been some other things going on; I’ll get to those. I wanted to do a couple more things before closing the book on the greatest documentary ever.

I watched every single episode with my 8 year old son. We would watch them each Monday morning at about 6am, before our work and school days got started. I loved reliving it all with my son. He loved it too. So I thought… and I had thought about this before as a feature for this blog… I should interview him about it. So that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to ask him questions about his experience watching The Last Dance. There have been plenty of opinions about it; now listen to those of an 8 year old. Let’s begin.

Q: What was your favorite part of The Last Dance and why?

Jordan’s last shot because I think it was a very important shot.

Q: What was your least favorite part and why?

When the Pistons walked off the court and didn’t congratulate them. That was very rude and mean.

Q: What do you think about the Detroit Pistons?

They’re wieners.

Q: Do you have a favorite Detroit Piston?

Dennis Rodman because he was a beast and ended up with the Bulls.

Q: Who is your favorite player on the Bulls after Michael Jordan and why?

Scottie Pippen because he was Jordan’s “Robin”

Q: Who is your favorite person that talked besides Michael Jordan and why?

Phil Jackson. He gave some good examples of the Pistons stuff.

Q: Were there any parts that made you laugh?

When they were dancing on the plane. Go Jerry, Go Jerry… now sit down Jerry.

Q: Were there any parts that made you cry?

No

Q: Was your dad crying?

Yes

Q: Which Bulls championship title is your favorite and why?

#6 because it was the last year Jordan played.

Q: Were there too many “swears” in this documentary?

Yes. There were also too many people having cigars in it.

Q: What did you learn, if anything, from watching all of these episodes?

How important it is to believe in yourself.

Q: Who is the greatest basketball player of all time?

That’s easy, Jordan.

Q: Any other final comments?

It was good. The Bulls kicked the Pistons ass*

*Editor’s note: He actually said “pass”. We will change a letter to a “swear” instead of saying the word, like “puck” instead of “suck”.. and no, not “f—” Haha…

Well, that concludes my first post game interview; it couldn’t be with a better person. Maybe this becomes a feature going forward? We’ll see. Are we now officially done with The Last Dance? We’ll see.

What a great interview from my nephew!! (Another good idea from my big bro, too!!) Maybe I’d read more of these blogs if 8-year olds were featured more often 😉
