OK, more about Sunday’s loss vs the Saints…

Did you see the Mims play? You don’t typically see stuff like that. When I first saw it, I thought that must be some gang type shit from off the field; where the heck did that come from? Is this why this kid can’t stay on the field? Supposedly the Saints guy messed with Miller the previous play, the same guy who got in a fight with Thomas on his own team, and now supposedly he spit on Mims… OK, he doesn’t exactly sound like a class guy either, but what Mims did, getting back to my whole WIN THIS GAME mantra, hurt us. He set us back 15 yards, an offense that struggles to move the ball. That is unacceptable. Was this standing up for his teammate or himself? Sure, we want to see that, but not THIS way. There’s got to be a better way to get back at somebody. I would say cut him, but… if this is what he is willing to do, then maybe we need to keep him around for Packers week… change his number to 94… put him on the field on defense… and change the name on the back of his jersey to Martin… OK, ok… I know, I just can’t let shit die.

Back to Foles for a minute and his lack of mobility. Did you see the play where he actually did get outside of the pocket and headed towards the line of scrimmage? Sure, he may not have got the first down, but man… when he saw the line of scrimmage he looked spooked. Don’t worry Nick; it won’t bite. Actually, you can cross over it, and try to get some yards yourself. That was crazy to me. I’m all for staying in the pocket, behind the line of scrimmage to throw the ball like you should, but… I think we’re in anything goes type mode right now. However we can move the ball we should. Nick did take some pretty big hits in this one. If Nagy doesn’t want to rotate Mitch in here and there, he may not have a choice after one of these hits; Foles has been hurt before.

And how about Jimmy Graham? I know he’s been OK this year, but we may need to start calling him old man Graham; Aikman wasn’t hesitating on his commentary about him. Talk about a shadow of his self playing vs his old team… he looked bad. Then there was the one target Kmet got all game… and fumbled… only to be overturned. Not sure what is going on at the tight end position, normally a QBs best friend, it would be nice to get some consistent contribution from a position that has been absolutely crap for the past couple years.

It was a shitty way to end Sunday, let me tell you. There was some positive things, right? Montgomery had a decent game, as much as he can without an OL. In fact, I didn’t realize he had the most broken tackles in the NFL… not bad. Then there was Mooney who made some plays; I like that kid. Sending him down the field will help stretch the field, which would be really nice… as long as Foles has enough time to get him the ball. Our defense was solid again. Yes, the TD before half was crap, and they weren’t perfect… but they certainly played well enough for us to win. I know the Saints were missing their top 3 WRs… and I would still like some more turnovers from them… and yes, they may have to actually score for us to win a game… but I still love our defense. That late completion in OT shouldn’t have happened; we should have sacked Brees on that play… oh well.

Next up… the Titans, and a whole lot of negative crap between now and then. With the big day tomorrow, maybe we’ll have some more to talk about. It would be nice if the Bears would get some help on the offensive line before the deadline… it would be offensive to just stick to what we got… Anyways, we’re still here; ready to give it another shot next week. Tough two week stretch and certainly another tough one ahead. Buckle down everybody, and Bear Down!!!
