October 8, 2020: Well Hello There

I didn’t know where to start last week after the Bears loss; I have a similar feeling after the Bears beat the Bucs 20-19 on Thursday Night Football. The 13-0 deficit to start the game. Robinson’s hands… you giveth and then you taketh away. The lack of a running game. Foles missing easy passes early. Brady on his way to another win over us. The defense stepping up… foaming at the mouth. Brady being a little bitch. Brady forgetting what down it was. Game over.

I think I’ll start with the final drive of the game for the Bears. After a nice pass to Montgomery, the Bears are in field goal position; how you feeling? I didn’t trust our kicker for one minute. I wasn’t feeling good about this. Bears run the ball on first down; they get nothing. Bucs call their 2nd timeout. I keep wanting to call them the Patriots… 2nd down, the Bears take a shot down field. Now I’ve been waiting for this all game, but now? You know what; I was OK with it. Forget playing it safe, relying on our kicker to win the game from where we were at. Forget worrying about leaving time on the clock for Brady to lead the Pats back. Be aggressive; have some balls. Trust your defense, who played awesome in the 2nd half. 3rd down, the Bears passed again! Gained some more yards, tackled inbounds, Pats… there I go again… Bucs call their last timeout. Sure, there is a minute plus on the clock, but we got a little closer, and oh yeah, maybe just maybe we can start trusting our defense again to hold in a big moment. The kick was up, the kick was good. Whoa! Now little Tommy’s last chance…

Brady is such a bitch; have I mentioned that? Getting in Mack’s face after getting tackled. God forbid Brady gets tackled. Don’t worry Tom; the refs didn’t allow that. Penalty flag flung 20 yards in the air as Aikman noted. But Tom got in Khalil’s face like he did something wrong… chump. Then a little bit later, Mack got a free run at him, and Brady shat his pants, falling immediately to the ground, appearing to begin to dig a hole. Mack had something to say to him, and Brady rolled his eyes. Then the end… Brady forgot what down it was with the game on the line? Some things are priceless… Yeah, I guess he does miss his daddy. Billy always told him what down it was… But maybe he has another daddy… our current starting QB. You don’t think Brady wanted to avenge that Super Bowl loss to Foles? It didn’t matter that the Bears had never beaten him; I guarantee he wanted to win for that reason. But nope… the Bears beat him for the first time, while BD Nick slapped him in the face. I’m sure Brady will have nightmares about Mack tonight…

This is one of those games I can talk about for a while; I think I will. I’ll have to follow this up with another one. For now though, I’m enjoying 4-1. For as bad as the Bears looked last week, for as bad as the 13-0 beginning to this one felt, to comeback and win, against Brady, against another good team… yeah, maybe the Bears aren’t so bad; maybe their record is proof of something. Yeah, we still have our issues on offense, but we did show some signs. However, if the defense can play like they did in the 2nd half of this game… watch out. It felt like 2018 for a minute, and that is a very good thing. Bear TF Down!!!
