September 15, 2020: Show Me The Money

posted in: Bears | 1

Welp, that was quick. One week in, and we have an unhappy Bear. Supposedly not going to focus on his contract, or lack thereof, Allen Robinson stirred up some drama on the off day, coming off the first opening week win for the Bears in 7 seasons. Timing isn’t great Arob… but who am I to talk about timing?

I don’t get some of this stuff, like taking down all his Bears stuff on all of his social media accounts. To me that comes across as a high school girlfriend who just got dumped and is ripping up pictures of their ex-boyfriend. It just feels like such a kid move, but maybe I’m just getting old. There’s got to be better ways to handle this right? And yeah, back to that timing… it was all good just a week ago… and now, bam! Didn’t waste no time adding some more drama to what is already going to be a roller coaster season for the Bears, you know, with the QB stuff and all. But yeah, that QB stuff… has a direct impact on Robinson, so…

So what does it all mean? I guess let me back up a second. I love Allen Robinson. I think he’s an outstanding WR; I see they tried to mix up a few other plays with him getting the ball in his hands, which is sometimes a struggle for our QB. He’s got great hands. Other than this drama, he seems like a good dude. I 110% think the Bears should pay him… it’s not like we have a wealth of guys at wideout for starters, and secondly, it’s not like our history has been flooded with top WRs. We got a guy, we should keep the guy; that’s how I see it. He did have a pretty serious injury… torn ACL about 3 years ago now. Is that a concern on the Bears side? I imagine that’s in Arob’s head. Trying to get paid, secure another big contract, before the unthinkable happens… I could see that. I could see that being a concern especially the way he puts himself in harm’s way trying to catch these passes from our QB. Reminds me of Jerry Maguire a bit… you know, show me the money! I feel you Allen.

Ideally they should relax after taking the medicine and inform the sildenafil 100mg tab doctor.

On the flip side, is that why the Bears don’t want to commit? I’m not sure the type of deal we’re talking here, years and dollars. I think he should be paid fairly; he is a top WR in the league. Top 10, 15, 20… whatever. He’s a legit WR1, and should be paid as such. I’m not saying he’s a hall of famer in the making, but he’s a very, very good player. Maybe he likes it here… even with the QB uncertainty. Maybe he wants to not think about it any more. If this was something that would become a problem, then this should have been taken care of in the offseason. I just hate that it is coming up now.

Can’t even enjoy the week 1 victory for more than a couple days without being thrown in a loop. Imagine if he holds out… that would be ugly. Hoping both sides can start to negotiate reasonably, and come to an agreement sooner than later. If not, imagine how Mitch, or Foles, or whoever is taking snaps for the Bears, will do without our number one wide out. I don’t want to. Let’s get this done and behind us. We’ve got another game to win this Sunday. Bear Down!
