September 18, 2019: Inexcusable

posted in: Cubs | 0

This is the most pissed off I’ve been all year. Just a horrible, horrible loss for the Cubs. It was a pathetic effort with our season hanging in the balance. With a chance to stay within two games of the Cardinals, pull within a half game of the Nationals, and go a game up over the Brewers, the Cubs turned in a dud. It’s inexcusable.

I said this game was the most important game of the year yesterday. That makes this the worst loss of the year. Facing a pitcher with a 2-11 record and a Reds bullpen more prone to blow leads than the Cubs pen, what did we get? A few hits? Really?

Yeah Baez and Rizzo are out; so what? It’s more of the same stuff we saw when we had them on the field. The Cubs have underachieved all year, and are hanging on for dear life. You think we could have beat the sorry ass Reds. No offense, but they got guys celebrating another under 500 season. Meanwhile, because we’ve pissed away so many games this year, we’re in the position where our playoffs have already started; we just blew a big one. Dammit.

Thought we were done before Wilson went deep. Thought we were done when we went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th. I was right that time. I just wasn’t feeling any mojo. I can’t explain why. I wish I did feel it. Instead, the feeling I have is of the season slipping away. It’s a shitty feeling. It makes me sick to my stomach. This Cubs team that should be mentioned in the same breath with the Dodgers, Yankees, and Astros is noticeably absent; no bias this time. They don’t deserve any of that love. Simply put, they are not on the same level. It’s both surprising and disappointing.

It is probable to happen that its practice may bring various kinds of sensation like blurry vision & giddiness. cialis buy cialis http://raindogscine.com/?attachment_id=15 And now we contain physical exercise and balance component, functional training and education in generico levitra on line order to avoid future occurences in the treatment. Maybe it was easier losing 100 games with a team that should have lost 120. At least they played to and above their potential. Forget about the preseason predictions. This Cubs team should be running away with this sorry ass division. Instead, we’re struggling to breathe. We are still breathing though…

And as long as we are, no matter how pissed I get, I still deep down believe we can do this. I can’t turn that off. It will not be turned off until we are mathematically eliminated or knocked out of the playoffs. I will always believe. That’s what you get when you wait for 40 years before one World Series title. It’s called resiliency. This Cubs team has picked itself up all year after each devastating loss. If we do that now, we’ll give the surprise Cardinals all they can handle at Wrigley in the next four.

I’m tired. This season has aged me a few extra years. Seeing what happened on the field Wednesday night, it feels like we’re done. Believing we can still do this, is the reason I just picked up two tickets to the first game of the last regular season series in Wrigley against the team were chasing. Cubs Cards is next. We are who we are. Go Cubs.
