September 20, 2014: I want to get better

On to the fantasy plays for Week 3…

It hasn’t been a good start with my picks.  A 4-9 record after 2 weeks leaves something to be desired.  Nobody said I was the expert; I can just act like one here.  Please direct any feedback on these picks to the comment section, and I will delete it.

OK, if one thing you learn about me by reading this blog, is that I’m all heart…. and very little head.  Wait, that doesn’t sound good.  Anyways, I make my picks with my heart.  I have the teams and players that I like, and have the teams and players that I hate.  Anytime I can pick against a player or team I do not like, I will do it.  In fact, I’m adding that to the format here.  We’re feeling this out as we go; by mid-year… or by the end of the year… or maybe by next year, ah screw it.  One day it will be figured out.

So here’s the new format we’re going to have 4 head picks, 4 heart picks, and 1 wild card pick.  So I’ll go QB, RB, WR, and TE with my head pick and my heart pick.  Again, this doesn’t mean I’m going to roll with the favorites.  I’m not going to tell you that Drew Brees will outpoint Eli Manning this week.  You don’t need me to tell you that.  In fact, you probably don’t need me to tell you anything, but I will anyways.  The one factor that each pick will have in common, is that I will be picking a lower ranked player to score more points than a higher ranked player.  With 9 picks to make, let’s not waste any more time.  With 9 picks to make, maybe I’ll get more right.  With 9 picks to make… maybe 9 picks is too much.  I said we’re still fine tuning!  9 picks it is… here we go.

QB (head):  Kirk Cousins over Nick Foles  QB (heart):  Ryan Tannehill over Aaron Rodgers

I don’t think RG3 will get his job back.  Not only is the new head coach trying to turn him into a pocket passer, which he is not completely fit for (although he does OK), but Cousins is good… really good.  Philly has been living the charmed life so far, and so has Nick Foles.  He had an unbelievable year last year, but already this year is coming down to earth.  These are 2 guys who will be trending in opposite directions from here on out.  Meanwhile, my heart is telling me to pick over male porn star mustache wearing Aaron Rodgers again.  Tannehill gets the call this week.  I’m playing against Rodgers this week in fantasy AND Detroit is not as flaky at home, so think we have a good chance here.  A brutal sack by Suh early in the game will help the cause.

RB (head):  Knile Davis over DeMarco Murray  RB (heart):  Matt Forte over everybody

Atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), high http://raindogscine.com/?attachment_id=31 purchase generic levitra blood pressure and high cholesterol causes many of the physical problems of male impotence. The relaxed muscles can work levitra 20mg online with efficiency. We’re going back to DeMarco this week.  This could qualify as a heart pick too, since I really despise the Cowboys, but I really think I got it right this week.  The St. Louis defense at home should limit Murray, while Mr. Davis will step in for Charles and KC will not skip a beat; they’re playing the Dolphins so that helps too.  Back to my heart, my team, my fantasy team, my son’s jersey, my favorite number… I don’t need any more reasons than that to pick Forte to have the highest scoring week of all RBs this week.

WR (head):  Reggie Wayne over Antonio Brown  WR (heart):  Golden Tate over any GB WR

Again, I really can’t keep my heart out of my picks… even those made with my head.  Bounce back week for Reggie in store against JAX, while the Carolina defense will stifle Pittsburgh.  My heart is actually rooting for the Lions next week for one of only two times all year.  And yeah, I’m taking Golden Tate to outscore Nelson, Cobb, Lofton, Sharpe, and anybody else the Pack throw on the field this week.  Remember, I’m planning for a Suh sack and Rodgers injury, so this will fall into place.  Did I mention I hate the Packers?

TE (head):  Jermaine Gresham over Vernon Davis  TE (heart):  Dennis Pitta over Antonio Gates

Sleeperville here with Jermain Gresham.  With AJ Green out, somebody else needs to catch TDs… why not him?  Vernon Davis, well, he’s just ordinary most of the time, and that will continue this week.  Going with another one of my fantasy guys who had a down week (damn Owen Daniels stealing TDs from him).  He’ll topple the fantasy stud that has NOT gone out to pasture as many thought, in Gates.  Remember, that Buffalo defense was so great….

Wild Card Pick:  I’ve already made enough damn picks, but give me Andre Johnson over Marshawn Lynch.  Just because… oh yeah, and Johnson was on my fantasy team… and they’re playing the Giants… and Lynch has back issues.

OK, so that’s that.  Definitely too many picks, but with the format still in tweak mode, we roll out 9 picks for your fantasy pleasure this weekend.  A 7-2 record would bring me to .500 for the year.  A 2-7 record will make me the Jaguars.  Head vs Heart.  Who will win this battle?  Doesn’t matter, cause I’m rolling with my heart all the way, all the time… just as long as I don’t lose any money because of it.  Been there done that.  Enjoy week 3!

After watching Matt Forte last night (this comment is post the Bears/Jets game), it seems that you should sing “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”.
Sorry. just trying to help out with some comic relief.
