September 24, 2020: Stumbling Bumbling

posted in: Cubs, White Sox | 0

Can’t you just feel the excitement of the Cubs and Sox both making the playoffs this year? That’s how it should be, but my God… it’s like they’re Keith Traylor and Ted Washington stumbling, bumbling, rumbling down the field after an interception… come on, you remember that Traylor clip, heading into the playoffs. Where’s your confidence level?

The Pirates are on the schedule for one reason: to rack up some wins. Figuring minimum 3 out of 4, the Cubs would be on the verge of clinching the division heading into the weekend. Instead, the Pirates take 3 out of 4… one word comes to mind… pathetic. That’s been the effort at the plate for most of the guys, for most of the year. Do you really believe the Cubs will be able to “turn it on” come playoff time? They haven’t turned it on all year. If it weren’t for outstanding starting pitching, and some timely hitting every now and then.. I can’t even imagine. The offense has not been consistent at any point this year. Actually, I’m wrong… it’s been consistently bad, and none other than lately. At this point, it feels like Yu and Kyle will need to throw complete game shutouts for us to win, or at least send the game to extras; will the same rules for extra innings apply in the playoffs?

Meanwhile, how about the hottest team in the majors for about a month there? Yeah, looking at you White Sox. They were on absolute fire, crushing the ball, stacking win after win, looking like they have arrived. Yeah, remember those days, and hope to channel that back in a few days. The division is even in question with the Sox, who I thought had it sewn up. The pitching has been the concern; the pitching hasn’t held up. Sure, it’s the Indians and they’re no slouches, but man… talk about heading into the postseason with some bad mojo. Both teams have that down.

And also this noticeably cuts down on hassle of being forced to choose a buyer by warning signs, classified ads, or perhaps results by using an internet marketplace. order cialis online Therefore, it is better to consult with a doctor before using the medicine can help you know what are the health conditions during which you should not use Kamagra tablets. djpaulkom.tv prescription de levitra Splashes After the rainfall, now start splashing! This is more order 50mg viagra why not look here affordable than buying the usual brand name ones.

Does it matter though? I mean, both teams are in, and with every team, regardless of record, having to deal with a short 3 game series in a park, regardless if it’s home or away, that’s empty. How much does the 60 game record matter as long as you’re in the playoffs? How much does home field advantage mean if there are no fans? Hey, I’m trying to cheer myself up here. There are teams that you wouldn’t mind being paired with in the first round; there are other teams you’d rather avoid. Will this late fall in the standings end up helping one or both of the teams?

And of course, as both teams crawl to the finish line, they’ll have each other to keep them company, in the regular season finale. Who wants it less? After what the Sox did to the Cubs first time around, maybe this is what the doctor ordered to help spark the Sox back up? After what the Sox did to the Cubs first time around, maybe the revenge factor and returning the favor to the cross town rivals will help ignite the Cubs? Hey, at least one of the Chicago teams will regain a bit of that positive momentum… Go Cubs!
